I doubt he was faster than rookie McDavid fast, the guy won the fastest skater 3 year in a row and is in the conversation for the fastest skater of all time, Tavares/Crosby post is first leg injury where never at that level :

Fact. McDavid's delivery was considerably faster, and everything he has done since has been faster as well.

Seriously though, I voted Crosby. Better skater and I think he'd beat Ovi in a footrace now. Ovi's game has changed so much it's amazing, I think if he trained for it he could regain some foot speed but he seems content scoring goals outside of the rush now. 2008 Ovi though definitely.
