I read the pens little melt down on their own GDT.

You won 3 cups with the kid and he scored 100 points this season.

You got outplayed, it sucks but it happens.

All you need is to rid a player or two and restructure.

Malkin and Sid are 31 and 30, they are far from old. Both have at least another 4 elite years left in the tank, they just can't be expected every post season to carry the team. They need help, especially from bottom lines and defense.

Ya but when Pens sucked in RS Crosby carried them, why he can't in playoffs?

He has three Cups and two Conn Smythe trophies. He can and has. But he can't every year because nobody can do that.

This team was not built with any real plan. It's just a random group of D and Dumoulin/Letang.

The only Penguin who could create any zone penetration, on the only line that could create any zone time. 1 assist but also hit two posts. The Pens only scored 6 goals :help:

Lehner’s SP:

.932 on 44 shots

.970 on 33 shots

.962 on 26 shots

.970 on 33 shots

Bad puck luck happens. Goalies get ridiculously hot.
It wasn't puck luck. Isles had as many posts, likely more and definitely more overall scoring chances.

Sid wasn't great but played better than a single point would indicate. Getting swept wasn't his fault.

Lehner's been hot all season, broke the Islanders SV% record.

Unsustainable.

And full credit to the Islanders for their commitment to team defense.

They collapsed down to the net and did a great job clearing rebounds.

There just wasn't a lot out there. Reminded me of the mid 90's Devils.

Lehner was great too.

Outrageous.

He will be traded like every star player who, along with his team, failed to succeed in this years playoffs.

Just like teams purge their star players every year after playoff failures.

Everyone has down series. Crosby has had far more elite playoff runs than bad ones, he’s proven that he very much can carry the Pens in the playoffs.

At least another 4 elite years left?

What are you basing that on?

You really think Crosby is still going to be in his prime at 35?

if this just happened to one team, it might be just not that team's year. but given how many series we are seeing play out this way, i'm wondering what happened. something is wrong with the "formula" of the league this year IMO. everything about this season is abnormal.

Bunch of excuses. Crosby's legacy isn't untarnishable, apparently he was dragging the Pens to cup wins and is still considered by some to be the best player in the league, but he is shut down and his team is swept in the first round. Series like this one and Boston will be brought up when comparing his legacy to the all time greats.

Islanders are a young hungry team and the Pens have become complacent. It happens all the time in sports. Kind of like Ajax beating Juve as well

Well, I think Crosby has earned some leeway here. Sure, it wasn't his best series obviously, but it's not like he always stinks in the playoffs. Sometimes you just don't have it and it wasn't just him this year either.

Crosby needed to score more no doubt. So did the the rest of his team, but if any player ha# earned the right to not raked over the coals for a poor playoff series it is Crosby
