Thoughts:
Hughes at 1st: Not surprised
Kakko at 2nd: Not surprised
Byram at 3rd: Does Chicago really need more defenders?
Boldy at 5th: Most people have him going between 9th and 12th overall. Could be a riser (like Hayton)
Broberg at 7th: I don't see it, but he is so raw and is in my opinion a huge boom/bust pick
Turcotte at 10th: Wow, he dropped a lot...
Knight at 15th: Bit surprised he is that high, I have him going in the end of the 1st round
Ilya Nikolaev at 19th: No idea, but the consensus rank has him going mid 2nd.
Moritz Seider at 26th: Steal of the draft is he is drafted this late

hockeyprospect.com and Craig Button both have Cozens at #14.... I like him way better than that.
Button's prospect rankings are not exactly a mock draft. He posts those as well, but his rankings are his rankings of who he likes, not necessarily who he would pick for a team

Chicago is not taking another D in the first round. That would be 4 in 3 years...

Honestly he's one of the youngest guys in the draft and has all the tools. He's going to take a long time to develop. But that's probably what they said about Chabot. I wish we had a pick in the teens to go get him.

I always wait to see what Bob McKenzie's list looks like, before I say yay or nay to Button's list. Button likes to give more importance to "trending" players vs those who have established themselves over years. Always difficult to judge because teams may have scouted certain players for a long time and so his rankings can be a bit misleading. He tends to basically say, "At this point...these are the rankings of the best players." Which isn't wrong, just not how a draft is going to go, necessarily.

He was only right about the top 3 last year.
If you were to do this for all the mock drafters/rankers last year, I imagine you’d find that there probably aren’t many that did well

This thread is about his ranking. This is his mock draft... and 3 picks exactly right seems like it's right in line with all of the other "experts"
Looking at some of the surprises, like Hayton, and what I heard about Red Wings' picks (Veleno was ranked around 10, Berggren was ranked around 15), he seems better than most.
