I went with Merkley. Perlini is the only other forward I see with top six potential, but Merkley seems like a safer bet to me.

I went with Perlini. Merkley deserves consideration. MacInnis and Garland will be up soon with wood.

The Boy from Britain.

I've railed against how the Niagara coach used Perlini. If he plays with a center who can get him the puck, look out.

Voted Perlini

I don't think Merkley is getting enough love though. Rough year, but he's such a fierce competitor with great skills and vision. I have him over MacInnis by quite a bit at this time.

Hopefully perlini was just severely misused, but even so his production dip is bad news. Merkley had a rough year but it was due to injury, if he can get healthy this off season I think he'll light it up next year, voted merkley.

MacInnis has done nothing but improve since we drafted him. I'll vote for the guy on the upswing.
Merkley then Perlini are next for me.

We have an amazing prospect pool.

MacInnis hasn't taken the step from good to dominant, which is concerning for a guy with his size and skillset. So I have him in the good but not great prospect pool.

And what has Perlini does with his size and skill? A lot less.

We are now in good not great prospect territory on this list.

In terms of absolute raw skillset, Perlini is much better than MacInnis, which gives him the edge. Perlini has also spent the entire summer trying to do what the organization wants, while I've never once been impressed with MacInnis' workrate in camps.

Start watching him you will be impressed. In my opinion MacInnis had a great camp last year and probably impressed the coaches as much as Perlini disappointed them.

I agree MacInnis is impressive. For awhile now I felt like I was the only one high on him as he kind of gets lost in the depth of prospects we've stockpiled. But this is Perlini. He's already 2 spots to low IMO. MacInnis gets my next vote as soon as Perlini is gone.
