Remember him from those big heavy blues teams that Hitchcock coached. If that’s what Armstrong wants to build towards I’m all for it.

I thought that name was familiar. Now I see why haha. Armstrong going after a player he first drafted back in the day.

...who is also one of the top scorers in the KHL, which might translate into some extra offense here if he signs.

Definitely hope so!

I agree with the sentiment that it's low risk and could be some reward. Why not try to have someone like Jaskin step in and help... if he doesn't work out he probably just goes back anyways.

BA has a lot of work to do to continue to build the base of assets that were plundered before he got here so that he CAN make big moves if he wants.

c'mon, Jaskin was the goals leader with 38, next closest player was 28, he had 10 more than the next player

1 - Dmitrij Jaskin 38 (59 games)
2 - Teemu Hartikainen 28
3 - Stephane Da Costa 27
4 - Shane Prince 25
5 - Reid Boucher 24
6 - Alexei Makeyev 24
7 - Justin Danforth 23
8 - Markus Grandlund 23
9 - Nigel Dawes 23
10 - Anton Burdasov 23

I like the fact we're taking the #1 goal scorer in the league, it's not like we don't need players that can put it in the back of the net.

:laugh:He got more goals in one year in the KHL in 59 games than he did in the NHL (27) in 303 games. That tells you what kind of league the KHL is. Dumpster diving I tell ya, and if you believe other wise that's your perogative.

I know it's dumpster diving...I'm just saying, in years past, we'd be dumpster diving for guys like Prince or lower, not the #1 goal scorer in the league. I'm saying we're improving our Dumpster Diving

Remember what Army is trying to build in the bottom six...

When you come in to play Arizona, in your opinion, do you think any team goes, ‘Oh, wow, I’m scared to play these guys tonight.’ With (St. Louis’ Sammy) Blais, (Ivan) Barbashev and (Oskar) Sundqvist, they might not fear them but they know they are a pain in the ass and they’re probably going to get the shit run out of them. When you can create some depth in your organization by getting players like that, what happens is when your third line matches up against their third line, it’s like dinner. We want to get to that point as an organization. We’re not there yet. We’re far away from that.

I don't think you are signing this guy for goals. Look at his size.
88 PIM in 303 games. Another friendly giant. So, what are we signing him for? Better than Fischer? Can he be exposed in the expansion draft?
