Doesn't seem like that long ago when the West was the Best, people were saying the same thing about the Eastern conference, ten years ago maybe?

The wildcard race in the west is just so so so so so weird.

Multiple teams that were completely written off this season all seem to be within a few points of those spots.

The West is total trash for the wild card spot. Less than 90 points will likely get you a playoff spot.

Coyotes have an absolutely ridiculous penalty kill though...they are so damn aggressive on the puck. If they can figure out a way to play like that on ES, they would be a regular 100+ point team.

If they were healthy this year, I’d think they would be pretty easily in it as of now and fighting with vegas for 3rd. People can bitch about chyka, but considering their budget is a joke, he’s done pretty well for himself.

More surprising to me that there is a team with a league worst -50 goal differential (60 games in) is within 3 points of a wildcard spot.

The west is interesting to say the least.

There will be over a 10 point span between 8th in the east and 8th in the west.

Looking like it will take 96-98 points to qualify in the east.

85-87 points is what it will take in the west which is awful.

Not a big fan of Tocchet but he has got the team playing his system very well. Guys come up from the roadrunners and fit into their role.

Despite all the injuries and the criticism for trading Domi, Strome, Arizona is now within one point of a playoff spot.

Chayka should get credit for the depth on this Yotes squad as most of this team is built by him.

Coyotes are a sub .500 team and Chayka badly lost the Domi and Strome trades.

Why are we giving him credit just because the the Western Conference is bad?

Glad for the Yotes.

BUT the west is complete trash. After hearing for years that "the east sucks" its nice to see the West be garbage.

The west is insanely bad. The fact that Arizona is within 1 point is not because of how good Chayka has done, but how incredibly bad the entire western conference is, lol.
