We will hit 80% tomorrow, 66k yesterday seems low for a monday
Don't know about rest of QC, but in Quebec City the biggest vaccination center is off on mondays and tuesdays. Tomorrow through friday are going to be big though as it will be the beginning of the 25-29 bracket. Every coworker I have in that age group is getting their shot tomorrow.

78% is vaccine and appointment (first shot)

Vaccine has no effect on the 78%.

We need another 102k new people to take their first appointment. These are likely the people who are the toughest to add to get to 80%.

Very interesting new study and research from salk on spike protein. Since mRNA vaccines are spike protein, it makes sense why we would expect side effects from the vaccines.

The novel coronavirus’ spike protein plays additional key role in illness - Salk Institute for Biological Studies

In the new study, the researchers created a “pseudovirus” that was surrounded by SARS-CoV-2 classic crown of spike proteins, but did not contain any actual virus. Exposure to this pseudovirus resulted in damage to the lungs and arteries of an animal model—proving that the spike protein alone was enough to cause disease. Tissue samples showed inflammation in endothelial cells lining the pulmonary artery walls.
The team then replicated this process in the lab, exposing healthy endothelial cells (which line arteries) to the spike protein. They showed that the spike protein damaged the cells by binding ACE2. This binding disrupted ACE2’s molecular signaling to mitochondria (organelles that generate energy for cells), causing the mitochondria to become damaged and fragmented.
Previous studies have shown a similar effect when cells were exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 virus, but this is the first study to show that the damage occurs when cells are exposed to the spike protein on its own.

Actually, no.

One important part to consider is that this article uses viral pseudoparticles, while the vaccines spikes are on the cells surface of the cell at the injection site.

Numbers looking promising. Vaccines showing their effects. We should hit 75% of adults vaxxed by tomorrow. Goal 1 of 3 accomplished!
Next goal. 75% in all age groups over 12.
Final goal. 75% double dosed for people 12 & up.

This is going to be a fantastic summer!

In other news(Evans, sad...)

Quebec province wide today, june 3rd, our 'chefs de service' and project pilots will be getting their training for the planning of changing all the dates(16 weeks between doses) for a closer one.

The delay between the 2 doses is still a mistery/supply until tomorrow(ministerial directives). We'll then be trainning our staff to be able to accomplish this and follow up with a june 7th start date.

To be able to change your 2 doses delay you'll have to go on 'clic santé' web and click on second dose, then click on you want to modify your 2nd dose date.

They will then send you a secure code through text message or email. Then use that code and modify your 2nd appointment date.

For those who have difficulties or glitches please contact(starting june 7th) 1-877-644-4545 options *-7-2(and the number associated to your region/city)

**Disclaimer** Date changes will be done by age most likely starting with 80+ years old and decreasing every few days.

If you're from CIUSSS don't quote me, I love this board! :)

Also if your first vacinne is AstraZeneca and you want to modify the type of vaccine for your second dose,(which you can) you most likely will have to take 2 more doses of RNA vaccine(not in all cases and not 100% confirmed yet). Call 811 or/and the number above for this information.

If you started with AZ(and want AZ next; imho good vaccin) and you have no second date for 2nd dose(depending of your region) more 2nd dose appointments will be added in the system(with or without appoitment) in the next few/days weeks according to your first dose start date.

For those people who had covid before or after your covid shot you will now be offered if you want 2 doses of vaccines at a vaccination centre. Make sure to call 811 first to validate and then call the reservation hotline 1-877-644-4545

For those who are on hold for a second appointment(no confirmed 2nd appointment) for moderna which can be rare depending on which region you live in, do not stress. You might not have a confirmed appoitment date yet due to its rarity, but the government is well aware of you and the system is well prepared for it, as in creating alerts for planning and diverting moderna doses if needed from, city to city/region to region. They would not make you go over the 112 days and most likely less due to the shorten wait period starting june 7th. Then either you call the call centre or get a phone call from your local vaccination call centre.

Gov has been extremely proactive in any type of rare occasions, glitches, to even go ahead and further improve on one of the best vaccination countries worldwide!

Very proud of the people who toughed this process out, got vaccinated and continue to be reasonably cautious.

Who knows what future holds but we’ve hit that target and people continue to get vaccinated.

Even here, nearly 50 threads about this with people providing information and support. Very happy to be part of this community.

Last I checked wasn’t there a go ahead to be able to mix vaccines? Like Moderna/Pzifer can be swapped.

National vaccine panel allows for mixing and matching COVID-19 vaccines
