Could Eugene Melnyk afford a fine from the league, or even a parking ticket?

Interesting, granted the Ilitch family owns that team also, but a ton of the Wings wear the Old English D Tigers hats during interviews.

It's just the finals, maybe the playoffs in general. During the regular season, especially come CFL playoff time, Flames players will wear Calgary Stampeder hats too.

They did...... during the bankruptcy in 2009, then owner Jerry Moyes sent out a scare tactic letter to the STH base at the time claiming if they re-upped their tickets for the following season they would probably not get deposits back if the Coyotes were sold to Balsillie and moved out of Arizona.

Of course there was no way of knowing if that were true. They would have been in the back of the line as minor creditors, but the tactic worked as it was intended. Undermining the STH base and the franchise's value in the Arizona market even further.

I can't remember the actual drop in STH's numbers because of the letter and the BK proceedings but it was significant.
