If they don't think they can resign Tkachuk, all management should just resign now before they can never get another job.

dealing Dion was the right call IMO. But the return was crap. Stajan turned out ok and had a lengthy Flames tenor, but I think they should have got more.

ya maybe this next deal as he is an RFA, but I do not see either Tkachuk playing their whole career in Canada. Players that stay with a city their whole career are few and far between so not a slight in the least.

Calgary is the team that I am most disappointed by. Markstrom before last couple of games was putting up 920sv%. Top pair on D was playing real well. Johnny off to hot start. And yet so meh everywhere else. Bottom 6f is so BLEH.

Not a single Flames fan is even remotely upset about "the puck flipping incident" AFAIK. In fact I think a lot of us have forgotten about it all together and only would have remembered when the next TOR-CGY pregame show mentioned it. Don't think so highly of yourself Leafs fans, we don't think about you guys that often

See what Ottawa will give up to get MT. Could be a really good haul.

lol the only reason i mentioned the puck flipping thing is because Friedman said that the flames meeting with Tkachuk came after the puck incident

Yes exactly. Dion turned out to not live up to his hype in any way. However, that return was atrocious an negatively impacted the team for a decade. They traded their top asset for two vets you could pick off waivers for free. I'm worried there's another similar move coming, and the Flames will acquire players like Ghallagher/Danault for Tkachuk.

If they can add to Tkachuk and bring back a #1 centre, then I'll be happy. But pretty much any other move that involves Tkachuk is going to make the team worse.

I think Ward deserves an extension for the amazing job he's doing this year.

That's a strange team. At times this year it's looked like a very good team but then they seem to crumble.

15 or so games in, I have no idea what they are.

Monohan is a hard guy to peg. He went from a PPG player to a grinder. Now that year was a bit of a fluke but he was consistent 30-30 guy who should be right in the middle of his prime and instead he's got 2 goals in the No Defense Division.

he’s been asked to play a more defensive game. And when they happens, your offense almost always drops. That’s exactly what happened to him. I’m happy with his two way play as of late, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss him scoring more.

He was asked to play a more defensive game last year and responded with a career-worst +/- and half the points?

Maybe Ward is the problem then.

Can you trust Treliving to hire another coach? Gulutzan, Peters, Ward. I say no.

Rn Friedman is on the radio. Says nothing is imminent but this is a GM who has his lines out there and is in on every big story. Also is very much questioning the idea of firing the coach/GM. Also says Calgary isn't giving up on the season yet.

if this was EA sports I would do Vilardi, Iafallo + for him (I know will not be enough here...I am saying EA sports) just to see Tkachuk and Doughty together.

How much would the Leafs need to add to Nylander to land Tkachuk? Or is Nylander a non starter
