Is New Jersey listening to offers for schneider or are they going to run him and kinkaid? If they are open to dealing him what is the current ask? Since New Jersey has a bunch of cap room are they willing to take a dump with better prospects involved?

NJ should definitely be open to a deal involving Schneider at this point. Not entirely sure if there is a market for him though, he likely has negative trade value.

We are not listening for offers for Schneider. Kinkaid is an UFA and could walk at end of season.

We only take a cap dump if we get a 2C. Not a prospect that could be a 2C, a legit 2C that scores minimum 40 points per year.

Something around Cory Schneider and Mike Condon?

    Say:

    Cory Schneider
    For
    Mike Condon
    Ryan Dzingel (Contract in place)
    3rd round pick

That gives NJ a solid backup for Kinkaid who is better then Lack.
A middle 6 forward with insane speed, and a pick.

Ottawa gets a starting goalie for 3 more years to give Gustavsson some time to develop into a starting job.

Makes no sense to trade him when his value is at an all time low right now....

That being said, wouldn't mind him in back in Vancouver

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Condon waived and could have been claimed with no compensation a few days back?

Don't see how he's of interest to anyone trade wise.

As St. Louis I would offer more than this as long as New Jersey was taking salary back or retaining to make everything cap compliant.

I’ll get blasted from st Louis fans here I’m sure but I’d be willing to part with kyrou to get a legitimate goalie who can make saves at the nhl level.

Sorry but I'm going with track record. Theres no way NJ should trade Cory. Kinkaid looks good for a half a season stretch or so of total games but cory has almost 400 games under his belt with an insane career save percentage.

the Devils are in no position to be moving Schneider right now, for a couple of reasons:

    A) Keith Kinkaid is UFA at season's end. He has put together large stretches of good play, but I don't think he is ever going to be capable of being a guy who can start 60 games.
    B) the Devils do not really have very good goalie depth in the organization. After Kinkaid/Schneider, its Eddie Lack and a bunch of unproven young guys.
    C) Schneider's value right now is probably at its lowest. They likely would not get anything of any value whatsoever, so its pointless to trade him. They also have oodles of cap space so its not like he is putting the team in a bad spot right now.

Lets see if he can round back into form after his surgery this offseason.

I'm not a blues fan but I am blasting you for that one. Rediculous imo. Blues would be better with Shnieder and as I think about it more, it's not too too bad of a trade, just an over payment.

    Kyrou
    Kostin (or Blais)

    For

    Zacha
    Shnieder

Hurts both teams but evens value a bit more. Futures to NJ and presents to STL

Might be over payment but you have to give to get and the blues weakest spot is goaltending by far. Put an nhl caliber goalie in net for the blues and they become scary.

For it to work though allen has to be added to the list heading to New Jersey because of cap issues unless they would rather bouwmeester.

Dudes value is low and he has 3 more years left on his contract. 100% negative value. if his contract was for 1 more season i could see him getting a decent return but not with 4 years at 6m. You would have to take back someone with a similar cap hit and term that isn't playing up to their contract.

There's no reason for New Jersey to entertain trading Schneider at this point. Not only is his value arguably the lowest it has been in his career (and therefore wouldn't fetch a return good enough to justify the trade), the move would take a hatchet to the Devils' goalie depth, which isn't exactly an organizational strength.

Great, but then we go back to the first prong of my statement.

There's no reason to trade Schneider when his value is at its lowest. The return realistically won't justify the move.

Ok then. On to next possible goalie available. I kind of thought that would be over payment.

Maybe it's more about the player and less the goalie? :sarcasm:

What happens if he continues to post a .900 or lower save percentage. And a GAA around 3? Your banking on a rebound that may not happen.
