I called it a great trade because goaltenders aren't worth that much value

lots of canucks fans freaked over giving up a top 10 goaltender for an unknown Horvat

devils fans said they found their brodeur replacement and was elated (don't blame them tho)

It would have been a good move for a team in win now mode (which was every year under Lou), but for a team on the verge of falling off a cliff it was definitely a mistake.

Don't think anyone saw Schneider declining this fast though. At least not to this degree.

Almost a calendar year since his last regular season win. For a goalie making 6 million dollars until 2022-23... that is no bueno.

So having 3 goals scored on you by your own team would be an obnoxious excuse?

First goal, should've had better position because that was going in regardless of a Devils player touching the puck.

Second goal, would've been nice if he stopped a deflection once in a while, especially since Gibson stopped a deflected shot moving a hell of a lot quicker a minute before that at the other end.

Third goal, Greene just sucks and is brainless, though Schneiders shit rebound control came into play there as well.

He's not blameless. He's a shit goalie at this point who the team needs to stop trotting out there. Ever loss since Dec 27 last year, he has given up 3 or more goals against.

2 and a half seasons of horrible hockey from him, and winless for almost exactly a year is more than just bad lucky and defensive breakdowns.

Remember when NJ traded the 9th overall pick for Schneider?
Sucks that they couldn’t be competitive while he was still in his prime.
Because Horvat is on pace for 70s pts while making 5.5m for the next 4 years

Wow with results like that, and Petterson to boot, VAN must be killing it in the standings this season and have a much much better record than NJ.

I remember a fair amount of confusion here when the trade was made. We trade him so we could draft.....Horvat???? Looks great now. Dont know what happened to him
Judging this trade when Schneider just came off major hip surgery is just as insane when Devil fans were saying how much they won it during his Vezina contending year. Just settle down Nuck fans, neither team is doing anything this year.

he has been the worst goalie of the calendar 2018 year. by far. hopefully he turns it around but i dont think it should be with the devils at this point.

He was a stud for 3 seasons then something changed. Probably some shenanigans with goalie coaching. I think the Devils ruined him and his confident is shot. Would gladly have him back as a Canuck

Schneider actually made quite a few impressive saves tonight, especially in OT. However, his teammates did all they could to ruin whatever positive plays he made.

Feel bad for Schneider, never really got a chance during his prime and now that the Devils are probably the best since he’s been there his injuries have added up and he’s basically losing a battle with his protege.

Maybe he can call Lu for advice.

Looking back now, that schneider for horvat trade has turned into a true win win trade for both teams. Canucks gave up the better player at that time for their future stud 1/2C and future captain, while the devils got a elite schneids to replace brodeur for quite a few seasons, and did have major playoff success (though 1 season).

I loved schneids when he was in vancouver, so i hope to sew him back on track!

I'm so sick of Cory Schneider and his dogcrap play. If he had any honor he'd retire in shame and never be heard from again. He's an utter disgrace. I don't even know it's possible to lose 20 games in a row. It's easier to win the Powerball than to pull that off. Hell, you could probably play with a f***ing empty net all game and win at least 1 out of 20 games.

He's been a total disaster since getting here. Everything he's done has been an epic failure.
Had an attitude when he came over and basically forced Marty to retire before he could get 700 wins then proceeded to screw up our tank for a few years.
Then, the moment Shero started fixing the roster and making it competitive Corey decides to play like total garbage.

I swear, we would be in better shape if we didn't have Cory, but instead had Chiarelli as our GM and Melnyk as owner for the past 5 years. No other team has had such a disastrous person in their organization. He's the biggest disgrace in hockey.

Sucks that Jersey wasted his prime and now that they have a team which is competitive he isnt good anymore
Same post will be made in a two or three years when Hall starts his decline and never sniffs the cup. NJ fans believe he will be top talent well into his 30's though

wasted prime?
never sniffed the Cup?

almost looks like a Henrik Lundqvist post

You're right about the never sniffing the cup, but the Rangers didn't waste that prima donnas prime. They just choked. Constant playoff choking and failure. Going to be another 50 years before that joke of a franchise wins a cup.
