Just to interrupt the latest shitshow here with some news. . ;)

2290 cases now in Edmonton. 12 Neighborhoods in Edmonton now Redzoned and the provincial total being only 17 of these. Edmonton 12 Calgary 5 Resto of province=winning.

Edmonton flunking at remedial covid. Refresher lessons given for weeks, Edmonton still flunking bigtime. I mean we're the worst city in Canada for Covid right now. How does that even happen?

Hospitalization keeps going up, 123 now, but ICU remaining firm at 16. Pretty remarkable how few of these newer cases are translating into more serious immediate cases. If there was a time to be flunking this pandemic probably better it happens now than when the virus appeared much more lethal.
Settle down lol stop looking at daily numbers and having a stroke over them lol half of those case numbers are probably the regular flu lol icu numbers not going up . Have a beer and relax. Maybe go to a pub lol

If I was in the UK, where they have nice interesting pubs, I still wouldn't be going to a pub right now. Pubs in the city here, as it is, they are shitholes generally, and I wouldn't miss not being in any of them.

Publife here is generally deplorable. The people going here generally being um...

In UK its a festive experience and a community experience. Not a sad experience of the broken down lives.

The only thing I find more depressing than pubs here is Casinos here, and they are cesspools for the same reason.

But yeah, I did mention ne increase at all in ICU's deaths. Just bringing the news.

Anyhoo theres a bunch of opinion, not sure if scientific. ;)

All that said a Strongbow Dry Cider in the rec room bar is looking pretty good right now.

Just because you don’t understand them doesn’t mean they don’t provide useful information.

Yes pubs are more interesting and enjoyable in the U.K . How about a nice restaurant or bar with your wife. Get out and see it's not that bad.

We get take out occasionally now. We used to go to Restos pre pandemic, and will after. But right now with 2300 cases its not so great an idea because of the sitting indoors and not wearing a mask component while eating. Can still eat the same food, at home, and have a cheaper drink, haha. MY tall Strongbow costs 2.50 at home. 11bucks for one can in a pub, would be 15bucks at Rogers Place, lmao. I get 8 large cans for 20bucks on sale. Drink two or three and everything is right with the world. ;)

Plus I play far better music..

To each their own. I respect that you are not ready to go out yet to a restaurant.

I wonder if a possible reason is due to the strain of the virus. Maybe we have a strain circulating here that's "milder"? I don't know the exact restrictions on travel but if the danger does have to do with the strain, I just hope we don't bring a bunch of the "more dangerous" strain back from people travelling to Europe etc and back with it.

A mask won't work if the virus is circulating among younger parts of the population who are then bringing the virus home unmasked.

It can slow spread in environments like a supermarket if everyone is wearing one but if some 16 year old kid picks up COVID at a party with friends, good luck keeping that from spreading to their siblings and then parents and possibly grandparents.

If you want a good balanced view on the economy, the market and particularly how the pandemic impacts everything I recommend recording Squawk Box and Squawk on the Street. You will hear from the right, the left and everywhere in between. A frequent guest who I really like is Mohamad El-Erian who is now the President of Queen's College Cambridge. When I stared watching he was the Co-CEO of PIMCO a huge fixed income manager.

They are also a very good source for mostly rather unbiased news on the pandemic. They frequently have CEO's of the major Pharma companies on. Today they had the CEO of Ely Lilly talking bout the results of their monoclonal antibody treatment.
I think I will. It’s good to get 2 sides to each story
Case in point
Let’s say there is a news event covering a news event in the States. Let’s split the screen , 1/2 CNN 1/2 FOX. I guarantee u get 2 different stories on the same story

Trump supporters of course being well known for their respectful tolerance of other viewpoints.

And I could grab 100 pictures in 5 mins of the internet with Democrat supporters trashing cities, running wild, and doing the same thing as this picture

Mohamed is one of my go to guys on Twitter. If you want an independent view on economics and the markets, he's a great follow.

It has become such a big divide now between the left and right. You are not allowed to form an opinion or you are labeled a racist. I try not to get involved in this BS but I’ll always stand up to these people. It’s like “ we are right and you are wrong so you must agree with us. I guess you can look at the differences in our provinces. We have problems here now in NS with the lobster fishery. U say the wrong thing and u r a racist. You look at Alberta and they wanna move their oil but then u got the green peace activists wanna shut it down. If they don’t get their way, they protest and basically shut down the country. U wanna run them down when they block the roads and railways but u r not allowed

Better orange than a creepy senile guy who sniffs little girls hair and was a career liar in politics for 47 years and made millions off his name from foreign governments lol I am Canadian but the hypocrisy of the people on the left is laughable. TDS is real.
