Here is a list of the top five longest current consecutive 20+ goal season scorers...
While researching this I used the lockout shortened season of 2012-13(or 2013) as a starting point as only 15 skaters scored 20+
#1. Alex Ovechkin has now scored 20+(actually 32+) in 15 straight seasons, has 45 so far this year
#2. Patrick Kane has now scored 20+ in 13 straight seasons, has 29 so far this year
#3. Jonathan Toews has 12 straight 20+ seasons, has 17 so far this year
#4. John Tavares has now scored 20+ in 11 straight seasons, has 26 so far this year
#5. Phil Kessel has 11 straight 20+ seasons, has 14 so far this year
Ovi by far the best, most consistent goal scorer of recent history, his NHL starting two years before both Kane and Toews always his to clearly lead but it'll be interesting if they go longer then him.
Same can be said for Tavares who is actually a year behind the Hawk duo
Toews and Kessel are somewhat in jeopardy of not repeating...but I'm not betting against either of them
Thoughts? All five players have shown their durability...no Crosby!
Oh and by the way the other 10 players from 2012-13 season? Steven Stamkos, Jeff Carter, Jiri Tlusty, Chris Kunitz, Jakub Voracek, Logan Couture, Rick Nash, James Neal, Pascal Dupuis and Thomas Vanek...
