What a great day it was, trading this arrogant traitor and getting rewarded with 2 Cups, while missing to do it himself, many Quebecois just want to say thank you thank you thank you

The offspring of that trade finally died off when they let Gormley walk last summer. Was the gift that kept giving for 24 years.

Oh man, if only HF was around then, it would have been EPIC!

The Nordiques have got to be the most inept organization in the history of sports! They can't even sign their own draft picks! Fire everyone, fold the franchise, and burn down the arena. :sarcasm:

The O'Reilly tree would be just as great if they knew how to move unwanted players for assets

It'd be ok, but nowhere near as grand. The Lindros trade just had way more pieces that would pay dividends down the line. They got six NHL caliber players (including Peter Forsberg) and two 1st round picks. The ROR trade was two NHL caliber players, one borderline NHLer in Grigo, and one 2nd round pick.

They actually did ok so far with the ROR trade though. They may lose Grigo this summer for nothing, but they turned that one 2nd round pick into some solid prospects that may pay dividends down the line in Greer, Morrison, and Smirnov.

This trade, obviously, worked out better for the Avs, but it was excellent for both sides.

Oh def.

I know we all love Peter but Lindros was one of the best players from his rookie year till about 97, so like 4 years or so. And the only reason he didn't walk away with the Calder cause um ...Teemu decided to go nuclear on the NHL. Of course it helped that both Mario and Wayne were kinda trending down during his dominance...and he got to play in the such a perfect situation. He was made for the Flyers.
Lindros was a freakin monster out there. He was so unique, I don't think they'll ever be a player like him.

That's because they knew then their development system was crap so why bother signing him. :sarcasm:
