Didn't see a thread for this yet. First qualifying round is behind us and the second started with a handful of games last night, but most of them will play out tonight.

Perhaps too many matches to list them all out, my own personal interest lies in Prague's Bohemians, who will be trying out European football for the first time in 40 (!) years. It's obviously a big deal for the team and its fans, who even chartered a special plane up beyond the Arctic Circle to face Bodö/Glimt, a team that has put away much more mainstream European competition, especially on home turf (literal). For example, a 6-1 home victory over Mourinho's Roma, though that was played in the darkness of arctic winter in contrast to today's nearly endless daytime.

indeed. pity we couldn't put at least one in. there were a couple good chances, though obviously the opposition had many more and were dominant the whole game... having to score at least 4 at "home" (we're playing at sparta) is a bit of a tall order

Hibernian lost to a team from Andorra. Only other big surprise was Basel losing 3:1 at home to a Kazakh side

Then and there

So, who replaces them ?

I took a quick look at UEFA website but couldn't figure it out. Does an additional team from Europe league playoffs make it, someone else from Conference league qualifiers or is it another team from Italy?

Not a great start for Swedish clubs in Europe, Kalmar eliminated by Armenian side Pyunik, losing both games as well, this after Hacken lost to a side from Faroe Islands in the CL qualifying yesterday

Hammarby and Djurgården will also go out. They had pretty decent results last year in Europe with swedish standards but this year is just terrible. The league is weak as hell. Current leaders ain’t even playing in Europe.

Don’t know what the hell happened for all this injury time but Plzen advance after scoring in the 23rd minute of injury time in Kosovo, they basically played almost an entire extra time

Some other scares and upsets, Midtjylland needed extra time to advance past Luxembourg side Progres Niederkorn, they lost the away leg. Maribor scored three unanswered goals to also get past Luxembourg opposition

As Brunkmesiter predicted all the Swedish sides in this competition are out already

Slovenian side Celje beat Vitoria on penalty kicks, second season in a row they go out early in qualifying

Beitar really choked that match against PAOK. Leaving aside that they literally gave PAOK two goals (that first OG is among the worst you'll see), they get a penalty and last man back red card against PAOK - then manage to miss the penalty that would put the tie level and give up a goal two minutes later.

Portugal had 2 teams in the UCL and they're both out already. Guimaraes lost to NK Celje in the previous round, and tonight Arouca went out against Brann Bergen.

Steaua out too, although they had a tough draw with Nordjaelland.

AEK Larnaca who made the round of 16 last year went out against Maccabi Tel Aviv. Fellow Cypriots Omonia Nicosia (who were in the EL group stage last year) are out too as they were beaten badly by Midtjylland.

Hajduk are another pretty big name to go out early, losing 3-0 to PAOK. Osijek and Rijeka both do look like going through so all is not lost for Croatia. EDIT: no Osijek are out too

Legia Warszaw with an impressive turnaround at Austria Wien. Lost 2-1 at home last week, now won 5-3 in Vienna thanks to a 90+10 winner.

Dynamo Kiev survived against Aris Salonika on penalties. And Partizan are trying to overturn a shocking 2-0 defeat to Sabah FK from Azerbeidjan, they now lead 1-0 at HT

Extremely routine 5-0 win vs Hibs earlier. Douglas Luiz is at another level... good to have Ollie get off the mark with a hattrick as well as a Digne hattrick of assists

Nothing too much of note so far, Fenerbahce hammered Twente, though the Dutch were down to 10 men for the entire second half. Frankfurt only managed a draw in Bulgaria against Levski Sofia. Legia Warsaw came from behind three times to get a 3:3 draw at Midtjylland

Well some results were pretty surprising to me. Partizan losing 5-0(!) to Nordsjaelland. Fiorentina losing to Rapid Vienna. Rijeka almost getting a result at Lille if not for a last minute winner.
Breidablik looking to become the first team (I think?) from Iceland to reach the group stages with a narrow away win at Macedonia champions FK Struga. I saw another Icelandic team, KA Akureyri, play Club Brugge in the previous round and found them to be extremely weak, so I'm a but surprised they have a team on the verge of the GS.

Speaking of Club Brugge, they went to Osasuna tonight and held on for a really good 2-1 win.
Both Gent and Genk won as well. With Antwerp (CL) and Union (EL) winning too, that's a nice 5-for-5 week for Belgium.

Yes. they would be the first Icelandic side. Zrinjski Mostar is also the first Bosnian side to make the group stages, they are still active in the Europa League playoff but are guaranteed at least a Conference League group stage appearance (which might be better for them in terms of competitiveness)

Rijeka played well for the circumstances, although Lille are the better team Rijeka had chances to score more goals. Pasalic is a youngster from the Dortmund academy who moved to Croatia to get more playing time and already looks way too good for the league and now he scores against Lille

Rijeka taking Lille to ET but in the end David comes through for Lille.

All 3 Belgian teams advancing. Gent finished off APOEL rather easily, while Genk needed penalties against Demirspor after missing a host of chances. Club Brugge dominated Osasuna but were down 0-2 in the second half thanks to clinical finishing from Osasuna, but then 2 quick goals around the 70th minute put them through as well.

Twente are out for NED, almost lost AZ as well, they needed penalties against Brann Bergen.

Not many surprises otherwise. Nordic teams will be well represented with HJK, Bodo, Klaksvik, Breidablik, Nordsjaelland and possibly Midtjylland maling the GS.
