What happened to the "pesky" sens? Conacher is the poster boy for "pesky" in my mind!

The problem is that fans have new expectations of this hockey club. 'Pesky' is no longer adequate. We want a perennial contender and after 10 games removed from 'pesky' we are trying to find reasons and culprits as to why the senators have not bridged this gap instantaneously.....

Are you drunk?

Conacher is probably the only forward on our team that brings 100% effort every game, and can be plugged on every single line. Finishes his checks and causes turnovers.

He must be Maclean's dream.

I can't believe it's only his 2nd year. He's played a lot like a vet this year. Really improved defensively

I'm excited to know who will be the target of the next "Dump On A Player" thread.

Macarthur? Spezza? Zibanejad? The possibilities are endless!

Love Conacher.

He's one of the only players actually causing a distrubance in front of the net.

You should feel shame for making this thread.

pretty much been covered by everyone else but conacher and to an extent macarthur are players that forecheck hard and battle infront of the net and set screens. every team has then but i guess since there production isnt showing up on there score sheet, they must suck and need to be traded now

Yeah one of the few players that gives his all and is mentally prepared to play is the problem. Give you head a shake.

Bad trade? for the 4th leading rookie scorer and a prospect that is still 18 years old, which was transitioned from a 2nd round pick. For a big goalie with a terrible 5 hole that would be number 3 on the depth chart.

I know you like many of you this poster wants to find a scape goat but the bottom line is this team isn't prepared to play games. The idiotic mistakes made by three quarters of the team is the reason they suck.

Conacher is 23.

What? Conacher is not the teams problem. Id like to think, Spezza, Karlsson,Michalek Greening, Gryba, Philipps, Neil,Cowen, Wiercoch have been worse than him.

A couple mistakes here and there doesn't mean anything. Let's not forget he's our only PPG player and 7 goals in 10 games. Spezza is not even close to playing badly.

Piling on players who are putting in solid effort is getting real old. The worst part of this season so far has been coming onto the sens board and seeing it full of panicky whiners who seem to have the memory of goldfish. Its a long season, enjoy watching the games! This is an exciting young team.

Needs to work on the accuracy of his passes and on hanging on to the puck a bit longer at times. If he does those two things he'll become a better player out of it.

lol at OP and thread.

So far what I've seen from Cony this period alone, was instrumental in cycling and screening for the first goal. Always in front of the net, and even saw him dump a guy over the SJ goalie.

He will be the greatest 25 point player in the league.

Neil could be as effective in front of the net too. Conacher got put there by the coaching staff because he is ineffective elsewhere. He gets muscled off the puck easily. In the corners he is as useful as terrier guard dog.

Agree 100%. He's screened the goalie for several Ottawa goals this year tonight included. If our other forwards had half his courage and tenaciousness we'd be a much better team. Worst thread of the year.

Conacher is the type of player that'll score for you in triple overtime of game 6 while your team trails 3-2 in series during playoffs on a PP that he drew while battling infront of the net.

He is the forward that the coaching staff has given that role too. He draws penalties because he is small and is easily knocked over. He is the type of player every average team needs but will likely not find on an elite team. He has shown very little in the way of being a good top 6 forward other than standing in front of the next and screening.

Pageau and Zibby were platooning on the second line today in practice for a reason. He is marginal there at best.

Conacher has been great. Decent production well being moved around the line up in his second season and first full NHL season. We'd definitely regret letting him go.
