I did this same thread a few weeks ago, but didn't see much input... everyone try to compare one of these prospects to an NHLer (or a couple NHLers). I'll try my own one. Some I have heard mentioned before.

Crosby - Sakic, Lafontaine
Brule - Roenick/Datsyuk
Johnson - Leetch(?)
Ryan - ?
Kopitar - Sundin/Modano
Bourret - someone threw out Peca, Ruutu, I see Fleury intensity-wise
Pouliot - Daze/Tanguay(?)
Latendresse - Guerin/Bertuzzi
Staal - ?
Skille - Tkachuk, maybe Holik's offensive half, but better hands
Setoguchi - ?
Zagrapan - Zhamnov
Bergfors - ?
Parent - ?
McArdle - Mike York, Graves
O'Marra - Drew Stafford with more offense?
Kindl - heard Kuba
Stoa - Bruce Graham maybe?
Bertram - I've heard Kariya, don't buy it... so who?

i'd say johnson is closer to a young scott stevens or young chris chelios than leetch. he is more physical then leetch.

well bobmarley i don't know where you have been watching hockey at , but comparing brule to either roenick or datsyuk is absurd since roenick and datsyuk are no way alike in any way shape or form.

I've heard a less happy-go-lucky Roenick for Brule, but not Datsyuk.

I actually read that from, uh, ISS! I never said Datsyuk and Roenick were similar, the '/' was there to indicate a cross of the two.

The goalies aren't there because it's often impossible to compare goalies unless they share a unique characteristic(s).

Yeah thanks, but I didn't really need the Heshmatpour comparison... we're comparing NHLer's with '05 prospects, not beached sea mammals!

Setoguchi reminds me of Torres, likes to hit, not huge but is sturdy and tough to play a big mans game, and has some skill to boot.
