I know it's stupid to say that someone is the next whoever, but we are merely comparing the way they play/their potential here.

Barker doesnt have the edge Pronger does.

Montoya can handle the puck, Lalime cant.

This may be a bad omen, but when I saw the replay of the 1996 Draft, Dan Focht's description sounded very similar to Andy Rogers (quick skating times and hard shot at the CHL prospect skills competition).

Thornton makes little sense because Evgeni is a lover, not a fighter. Thornton could also only dream about having as good a hands that Malkin has. Sakic makes very little sense to me too. One's 5'11'' the others 6'3'' and may be 6'5'' when all is said and done.

Style, not size.

Malkin won't be the next Sakic, he won't be the next Thornton, and he won't be the next Fedorov...he'll be the next Malkin...but his playing style is a mix of Sakic and Thornton.

Radulov looks a lot like Zherdev. I've only seen Zherdev in warmups once (seen him play in person 3 times, 7 times on TV), but they are comparable. Raddy looks very happy. He's quite energetic out there, very competitive. Never saw that side of Zherdev, not to say it doesn't exist. The semi-lankiness, the speed, the shiftiness and moves, and the creativity are very comparable.

Kyle Chipchura:Rod Brind'Amour..IMO

No, Brind'Amour was a huge scorer in Tier II and as a rookie in the CCHA. Chipchura will be more along the lines of a Wayne Primeau, Boyd Devereaux, Alyn McCauley, Manny Malhotra, type of player. He could step into the NHL early, because he is physically mature and has a well rounded game like those players, but he will always be limited to 30 points a season or so.
