We need to have a chat with UPMC.

Or better yet, perhaps AHN wants to get in on the sports medicine business!

After copying to the OP or anywhere, you'll have to left click before each text in each cell and go to tables icon and select "cell properties" then select the color you want to use "remember the code" from the first one and repeat it in each cell.

I used >>>> fcc305 <<< for below. You can just type it in.

If we had better players then I don’t care if he’s in or out but I’m not sure we have 12 better forwards right now.

That’s part of the equation of why they have 1 playoff win in their last 11. ZAR was putrid agt the Habs and has 2 whopping assists in 17 career playoff games.

Maybe it’s time they aimed a little higher than ZAR.

It’s pretty sad when ZAR and McCann have “hold my beer” contests for goalless droughts and then take it up another level come playoff time for who is more ass.

Removed Marino from the list as he practiced and assuming he is off the COVID list, ZAR/Matheson/Letang practicing

What we really need in the next GM is a GM who can see what players really are and are any weaknesses fixable. McCann simply no longer cuts it and needs to go. Reese can't hit the ocean with a rock and tired of players who have under performed expectations. The stars are not the only issue. Pens who have played better than expectations or met expectations I can count on one hand. That isn't good. But POJ, Tanev, Smith, Zucker come to mind as good. So many are not doing what they are expected to do. Malkin, Jake, McCann, are not worth it right now. Kap, Rust, Marino maybe Sid are doing ok to good as to meeting expectations. Even those could be better. Jarry, Matheson with injuries and other D men are injured to make any real assessment. the only other player that flat out is not close to his peak performance is DUMO. We will see what he is when he is back.

Better idea: Not trading 1st rounders and young players for a couple guys in their 30s, further prolonging the suffering because we've got no prospect pool to draw on whatsoever.
Wrong thread. And I keed. But going for it is absolutely the best strategy.

Added McCann, removed Matheson and Letang and will leave off Matheson for now as there are a couple days to the next game and it might be minor, first update to Pettersson:

Agree with you on that deal but I have no problems trading 1st round picks for young guys with term like Kapanen and players like that.

You might say we have no prospect pool but for the last three seasons the Pens have added 3 nice top 4 defensman (2019 Pettersson 22, 2020 Marino 22, and POJ 21). Not many teams can say they added 3 prospects like that on defense 3 years in a row and that is just on defense. Doesn't matter if you draft the prospects or trade for them as long as you get them. At forward the team added (2019 McCann 22 and Blueger 24, ZAR 24, 2020 Lafferty 24, 2021 Kapanen 24, O'Connor 22). At goal we added (2020 Jarry 24) So while most of our prospects didn't come from our drafts we have added half our lineup in prospects that came up on our team at 24 or younger at the time of promotion or trade.

All this talk about mortgaging our future like some say on here is a bunch of crap. Not only have we added all these young players in the past 3 years but we also traded picks and prospects for players in their primes over the years such as Kessel, Hagelin, Zucker, and others. I do believe the way Rutherford used picks and prospects for young players or players in primes with term is almost always a win trade when evaluating it 5 years later when those picks and prospects don't come close to the value of the players traded for. When you can add more than half your team in players 24 or younger when joining the team in the last 3 years you are doing pretty well in the prospect game.

Penguins defenseman Mike Matheson leaves practice with undisclosed injury | TribLIVE.com
Approximately 20 minutes into the session, Matheson fell to the ice after coming into contact with an unidentified teammate. Matheson laid on the ice for several moments as athletic trainer Chris Stewart attended to him. Eventually, Matheson was able to recover to his skates and left the ice under his own power, retreating to the dressing room.
Coach Mike Sullivan did not provide an update on Matheson’s status beyond acknowledging he was being evaluated.

Didn't see this posted, what is it with dudes coming to us from the Panthers and injuries?
