while neither has been officially appointed as the starter for their country, all 3 provided the best performances for their countries so far.

Aebischer has been fantastic for the swiss, budaj with a big win vs the russian, and kolesnik with a solid game vs the states.

Any other team have this many goalies represent them before?

Considering this is only the 3rd time NHL'ers have been in the Olympics, I'd think that the answer is no.

I believe you are correct. On a side note/question, are the Habs the first team to have 3 national team captains?

Beyond that, Colorado may be the first team to be activley shopping for a new goalie with 3 in the olympics!!! :amazed:

What if they had picked up Kolzig, that would be 4!

From an Avs fan's perspective, we really couldn't have asked for a better start to the tournament for our goaltending. Kolesnik with a good effort behind a completely overmatched team. Budaj with a sensational game to upset a Russian team that is just loaded with scary offensive firepower. And what can you say about Aebischer. After (by all accounts) an impressive third period in relief of Gerber against the Finns, he comes out and pulls off the monster upset of the men's tournament so far, making 40 saves--many of the brilliant variety--against a powerful, heavily-favored Czech team.

Great start for Colorado's goaltenders! :handclap:
