Adam McQuaid...and yeah, he whooped his ass pretty good...
Yeah I agree but I was more so commenting about his defensive play. It’s refreshing to watch.
Doesn’t show his quality of competition plus he didn’t play heavy minutes.
Welcome back IC!
D'oh, I should've picked up on that. Amazing to think that he did that deal in 2012.....and yet has been so good in one-for-one deals with us. No wonder Peter Karmanos still hates him.
I guess that memory has faded for me in the years since, but yeah, I do remember thinking "damn, this franchise is just wasting first rounders", especially when it looked like we might not even sneak into the playoffs that year.
Still, crazy to think that Perron was a waste, but gave us Hagy, who (in part) helped give us two cups. If those hadnt happened I would probably be in a sanitarium whispering "Barzal Barzal Barzal" to myself. The fact that he went at 16 burns, but its gotta make Oilers fans incensed that they lost out on him for Griffin ****ing Reinhardt.
Yeah, visor and all. My guess is for those few dirty hits from behind into the boards. Eh. Both teams had both, but that hit on Mc Leod in the first was a jumping high hit to the back into the boards for sure.
- should have been a shootout...
Dance the magic dance!
Way to respond after the CHI ****show.
I don’t get how Sid looks so refreshed at 31. It’s his skating that just looks miles better than last year. He almost ended Ekblad’s career on a spin like it was 2007.
Maybe that’s really why JJ is on this team
Can we take a moment to talk about Gentz's separation deke through the defenders legs....
Ah...say no more fam.
Some on this forum were ready to cut ties with him already. Good thing our GM doesn't have the patience of a 3 year old child.
Doggy ate my oucecream?
That just doesn't compute for me. Look at how well pens played, until hawks game. So now smitty is trash cause the team abandoned playing for it?
A team sport is so hard to pick one player to be the cause. Murray no doubt sucked it up, so did the team... leap frog if you want to, but it works in tandem.
I don't buy the Murray is back.
The team is back.
Can the team just have a squat and Murray will save the team? The team was playing so terrible, Murray was terrible, it was an onslaught.
I mean, look at the hawks game, Smitty wasn't stellar, the team yucked it up hard. So now Smitty sucks or what? Get what I'm saying here? All the Murr praise is just self aggrandizing ... 'I knew he'd be back' bull ****
I dont know how many ways to put this, but if Murray played the hawks game and smitty played the panthers game, everyone would be singing to the other tune.
Maybe they'd have won. I doubt it, but still. It's the point. Ship of fools kind of deal.
It's symbiotic. The team needs a couple saves. The goalie needs the team working well.
When either/or is off, it's a tough game.
Everyone looks like ****. Trade em all.
When both aren't dumpster fires, it's Stanley Cup baby!
....Murray is better than early in the year. He looked like he was about to retire and crawl into a hole and die. His demeanor is back. No doubting that.
Better explained a bit than me, you get it. I don't see how any can not get it. Despite my connotations, it's still correct. An inhuman goalie will not bail out a human team filled with mistakes.
Murray is definitely better now no doubt. So is the team. Thank smitty as well for providing some solid ground to stand on.
Marcus Petterson is going to be a legit top 4 d-man. He is 22 in technically his rookie season, playing great defensively and getting better offensively. Has a +15 rating as a rookie d-man.
A rook in his 3rd year of NHL games.
Same loophole of Murray? How can you be a rookie twice?
Refreshed? More like evolving.
This 20'ish game stretch from him has been the best 200 foot game I've seen from any player in my whole life, most likely. He's playing like a sage. A master.
Hunting guys on the PK like he's 20 years old. Diving shot blocks late in games. Encouraging teammates on the bench. Calling huddles on the ice and giving clear instructions. 40 goal pace. +21 at the mid point. Minimal PIM's. Constantly setting up grade A chances. Being selfless when he knows the teammate across from him needs the goal. 55.7% face-offs. Getting physical after whistles to give his team a jolt. I could go on man...
You couldn't create a better Captain in a test tube. It's inspirational. What a privilege it is to watch him every night.
He may not win the Art Ross but even if he finishes 15 points behind, you could still make a very strong case for MVP.
Malkin has some milestones coming.
8 assists to 600 assists
17 goals to 400 goals
25 points to 1000 points
