IMO, if Toronto doesn't fire Babcock, they will effectively kill their window. It was basically last year and this year with their cap issues. Somehow, some way they have to fit 11-13 players into their roster while paying for at least 2 if not for 3 top 4D... with likely less than 20m in cap room.

Y'know, Barrie can play the left side. He did so any time he was paired with EJ.
They actually played pretty well together. I don't quite understand why they weren't paired up more often. *Checks lineup from 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2017-2018* Yep...now I remember. God I thought I had finally forgotten how bad our D group was just a few years ago. Hejda (on his last legs), the corpse of Stuart, Holden, the General, Redmond, Johnson and Barrie.

Yep, that was the reason. I still think Roy and Bednar should've tried it a little more often than they did, but alas, they were playing with fire in doing so.

Can't remember but the advanced stats on Holden/Guenin at even strength (very, very small sample size of course) were like, record-setting bad.

Sakic has done wonderful job with the salary cap. Just came to my mind from this.

He is building our team for a longterm success.

The Toronto reporters are ruthless, lol.

“Tyson, another turnover that cost the team a goal tonight.”

He just nods and sighs.

Poor guy.

Damn, looks like he’s going to cry. He deserves better.

Hopefully the Leafs cut bait, and he can regain his confidence this year on another team..out East.

Funny thing is that he did that here all the time too we just didn't have the media to call him out.

I said it for years. For every good play he made that created a goal he had a negative one that gave up two.

He is horrendously defensively and is getting exposed in Toronto. He is basically a PP specialist that cannot play 5 on 5.

What a fleecing by Sakic.

Maybe... if he played a little bit better... you know, like an ELITE offensive dman.

Barrie has been terrible. WE actually thought we were getting a good dman. Kerfoot is not that awesome either. Colorado won that trade hands down. Wish we had Kadri's grit back.
Wish we had Barrie back. Just not at the expense of Kadri.

Kerfoot seems to be working out well. We’re all still really glad he’s gone but I’m happy that he’s doing well elsewhere.

Send him back to Colorado, you can pick one of EJ, Zads or Cole to replace him with!

...Babs would love Cole...

No. We're bad enough defensively without him now. And we hopefully need the ice time for guys like Timmins, Byram or Rosen in the future.

Poor guy.

I'm not exactly the biggest Barrie supporter here but this absolutely enrages me (even if it's justified). Anyone know who asked him this? I'm going to troll the living shit out of them on twitter.

Barrie needs to get out of freaking Toronto like yesterday. Kerfoot can live there for eternity.
