**** yeah, love this move. He's not going to be a revelation, but he's damn good which should solidify our goaltending for next season even if Bernier stays.

Way better than Mikko Koskinen for me.

I guess this is confirmation Bernier is hitting the market.

They might keep Hammond though.

With Varlamov's injury history and Francouz' lack of experience in NA, it might be wise to have a 3rd stringer with NHL experience.

I’m kinda surprised we’re going this route rather than bringing Bernier back. He was a perfectly adequate backup.

Surprised it is so cheap to be honest, especially after what Koskinen signed for

Definitely cannot fault a team that is looking for cheap inexpensive goalie depth. Especially because you cannot get any worse than what they've had backing up Varley!

With the Avalanche being a budget team looking to spend at the cap floor, this is an excellent financial move.

Bernier($2.75m) and Hammond($1.35m) are replaced by Francouz at $690k.

Avs now sit with $30m in cap space and around $10m under the cap floor. Overpay some old UFAs and get to that floor no problem.

I hope they extend Rantanen soon before he hits another 80pts season and ask for the Draisaitl's contract when Mack is making 6.3M$ damn it's crazy to think that if Mack repeat what he did a 90 pts season it will be one of the biggest steal along with Kuch. I wonder if the Avs gonna extend Varly after next season and if so how much ?
