It was a numbers game and Cole wasn't going to be happy being a 7D in his last contract year.

As others have said, Cole wasn't interested in eating nachos during a contract year, playing for what might be his last contract.

We save some cap, clear room for Bo and Timmins, and get someone who can take Cole's place in the taxi (and must have more upside than Cole, no?)
