I think we can stop with the Ottawa Narrative that hes horrible.
Hes been pretty good considering he is paired with Reilly who seems to have gone to a Ayahuasca retreat and is still recovering from the effects.

Lets hope Keefe helps him find his game sooner than later

Played a team leading 27 minutes last night and was quite effective. Not his biggest fan, but willing to give him a fresh look.

Our whole roster needs a fresh look.

Babcock was like a demonic plague.

Look at how sharp Kadri was under Aves System. He was pure crap last season - Not the craziest idea to say Babs made him worse with his overcoaching

He's basically the new Gardiner. Leafs fans are so biased that whenever he does something good or plays a good game they wont notice. But as soon as he does the smallest thing wrong, everyone calls for his head.

He's not a great NHL dman, but he's also not bad, definitely a #4 or a #5

So where's the love? Ceci and Barrie were the two standouts against Colorado. Barrie's 2 pts and Ceci's game-saving save in the last minute? People on this board were screaming "Trade Barrie! Leafs got robbed!" etc., after only 22 games. Barrie is an offensive defenseman, he needs to be paired with a defensively minded d-man to be effective. He has 3 50-pt seasons, with a 4th at 49. He plays like Karlsson, who absolutely needs a Marc Methot to quarterback him. Barrie was a great pickup, he just needed to get some games under his belt in TO to adjust.

I really notice that Ceci is playing more like the first round picks he is under Sheldon. He seems to be playing his game, and very relaxed. I hope he keeps it up.

His xG was particularly atrocious last night. Not saying I’d judge just on that as I’ve heard from multiple sources he played well. But can anyone help explain why it looks like he and Reilly got shelled but supposedly played well? I’m talking like 13% xG share

He's having a good season, much better than I was expecting after his career in Ottawa

He doesn't deserve the **** he's constantly getting but people love a narrative and don't give it up easily

I think this is the next Hyman of HFbords. I suspect Dubas really likes the player and will try to retain him if he will accept market value.

(Just in case you are reading this dear, I meant everything you ask me to do is wonderful!!)

Care to share a link to this or rather not?

if Rielly wasnt carrying an injury, id bet Ceci would be way more liked in leafs land. Rielly of last year and that pairing is fantastic, as it stands whatever Rielly has wrong at the moment is putting Ceci into positions he cant handle. Thats not Rielly's fault of course, good on him playing through whatever it is.

Also if Rielly was 100% he and barrie being a pair would be unreal but Rielly cant cover Barries forays forward with quick skating right now. But if we had Rielly Barrie then that 2nd pair of Muzzin Ceci would be unreal

Assuming cap hit is the same, Ceci or Zatsiev?

Ceci is better due to his much better passing/transitions.

They both seem to be offensively challenged though despite Ceci putting up some decent numbers in earlier years.

Theres some hyperbole going on about him but on a really strong team, he may be more of a 2nd pairing defensive D that can eat big hard minutes and be good on the PK while being able to fill in on the top line.

It's still early though and Rielly hasnt been himself this year quite yet so need to watch more games to see exactly what he can do with this team. The Leafs are hoping he can be a Josh Manson type player for them it seems and his numbers arnt that far off right now.
