Not sure how I would feel about this is if I was a Cubs fan.

It's great that they avoided a risky long-term contract for a guy who is a question mark in terms of year-to-year consistency...yet if Bellinger does well again this season, this same song and dance will happen next winter because you know he is opting out.

Well, we have to put things in perspective.

That albatross was lifted and those players on that team (bless them) did the Lord's work. I cannot blame them for not winning another title and letting their history impact as warriors fighting the good fight, get watered down by winning multiple titles.
