Gosh, you mean Kivlenieks is actually doing really really well, possibly even better than folks here anticipated during the summer - such as, perhaps, when prospect rankings were being voted on? You don't say. :)
considering the rest of Cleveland is pretty shit, its quite easily to get hyped on him

How much satisfaction do you feel watching so many Monsters that tore it up in Cleveland are now doing very well in the NHL? I would think that you would feel close to certain players, Andy, Sonny, Bjork after they did so well in the AHL. Loving these guys

probably a stupid question posted above, but right now Im realizing that is how NHL systems are supposed to work, stops at every level, let the player adapt and catch up to game speed not just be thrown into the NHL to suffer and have their spirits stomped on. Gilbert Brules handling will always hurt more that a little. Zherdev and Filatov probably could have been awesome had we just been able to slow their progress. Everyone of them wanted to be like Ovie and Malkin, but those are generational players coming right in and leading the league from Russia Brule might have been slowed down if MacLean hadn't been so convinced he had the next Sid.

Anze Kopitar or Nikolai Zherdev???? the friggin choice that has haunted our organization from early on.

No doubt his performance so far has made Jarmo feel even more comfortable with moving Forsberg over the summer. He’s certainly had an excellent start to his pro career with CLE!

I was one of the posters that kind of voted him pretty low overall, but he was definitely one of those harder prospects to rank.. Being a new prospect with just a couple season stats from the Minnesota high school league, one NAHL season, one USHL season at 20 years old, combined with goalie voo-doo kind of makes it hard to judge. One of those guys that goes later in the 1st ranking as we don't know much about him. Of course, I still like doing the rankings.

I'm just trying to keep in mind, he's still only played 4 games in the AHL thus far. I mean, Anton Forsberg had 2 very good years in Allsvenskan and the SHL, came over to play 4 games in the AHL and was lights out with about a 96% save percentage, continued next season (2014-2015) with a full season at about 2 goals against per game, 93% save percentage and had to play in the NHL as Bob got injured... But, he was just exposed as not being ready yet. I remember him playing at home, being relentlessly bood and given the bronx cheer for making a routine save. I legit felt bad for him there.

Moutrey's absence likely due to injury, reading between lines of Tony Brown's comments during intermission report.

Injury information is top secret in the AHL, unlike the NHL, where teams have to report injuries and what half of the body is injured.

Somerby probably didn’t look good because a. it’s his second AHL game and b. he’s been sitting pretty regularly. Guy isn’t going to play well if he’s scratched for a majority of the games thus far.

Not sure about the "A"s tonight. Gallant wore one in warmups, but was scratched.

Losing 1-0 on goal from aforementioned Iowa PP.
