I'm surprised they were able to get a 5th round pick in return.

2013 draft:

1. Eric Fisher
2. Luke Joeckel
3. Dion Jordan
4. Lane Johnson
5. Ezekiel Ansah
6. Barkevious Mingo
7. Jonathan Cooper
8. Tavon Austin
9. Dee Milliner
10. Chance Warmack

You know it's weird when the Lions were the one team to get it right. No offense, Reality Check.

2 of the top 5 picks suspended for PEDs/substance abuse, gotta be a record.

Austin is looking promising tho, especially now that he has a good QB. Milliner was kind of screwed by Revis coming back but he had time to prove himself before.

As for the OP, if anyone can salvage him its BB. First Cooper, now him, guess its one of those "pay pennies and hope he works out and you get good value"

His first season was alright. Never been anything more than a pass rush specialist though. You can get guys like that in the 5th-6th round and develop them. Never understood the hype around that one.

Yeah, he is blazing fast, but he is way too skinny and weak. He was the easiest guy to block. The Browns asked him to bulk up, but he didn't.

From what I understand and seen on Twitter he may have added 20 lbs this offseason and simply didn't fit the new scheme. This combined with minimal production last year makes it a pretty easy decision for them to move on id imagine.

I'm interested to see how he does in NE. They have a lot of versatility in the front 7, and he has the size they like out of those outside rusher/LB kinda guys. Might as well throw him into the mix, that 5th probably would have ended up being flipped into 6th and 7th picks made in 2038 anyway

Star Lotulelei was a top 3/5 pick until that mystery heart problem that hasn't bothered him since. While I'm cool with his fall, that boosted up other, worse players a few spots.

After the top 10 it's actually a solid draft. Including Ansah there's 9 Pro Bowlers (1 is Cordarrelle Patterson as a KR though, and that's all he is at this point).

Then all these guys are good players too:

11. DJ Fluker
14. Star Lotulelei
15. Kenny Vaccarro
17. Jarvis Jones
23. Sharrif Floyd (when he's actually healthy)
25. Xavier Rhodes
28. Sylvester Williams
30. Alec Ogletree

He can't set an edge and lacks power. He is easily washed out on run plays. He may contribute on special teams.

Eric Reid at 18. Went to the pro bowl as a rookie.

He certainly fits the mold out of what they like in STers in terms of size and speed

I'm interested to see if the 20 lbs helps with the weaknesses you highlighted. Probably not, but worth a flier I guess

A 2nd-string situational pass rusher who fits on special teams for a 5th round pick? I make that trade if I'm the Pats.

Besides, who doesn't want a guy named "Barkevius Mingo" on their team? The other option is to leave him to his own devices, where he will doubtless pursue a career as a Sci-Fi supervillan.:D
