Is anyone taking notice of this kid? He is putting up great numbers here in Gatineau this year. He has 94 points so far in his rookie season. Pretty good for a guy who made the Olympiques as a walk-on.

Him and Bouchard are first-rounders in my books but as a lot of smallish q players get slighted, I doubt either of them get picked in the first two rounds though they should. Maybe Bouchard will considering his brother's success but Giroux is a wild card at this moment.

Central Scouting had him at #72 at mid-term in NA skaters--that is a joke...He could go late first to mid-second I believe...

Higher than that.
He is on a race for the rookie of the year in the Q with Esposito.
And Esposito is having a so-so end of the season.

Way up north...
I played with this guy for 5 seasons when he used to live downhere as a kid and hes a really nice guy and I can see him going anywhere from 20th to 50th depending on what teams are looking for. He skates pretty fast and has a good shot and also very good stickhandling skills and a good saucer pass.

I really doubt that Bouchard will be a first round. I see him go after the third round since his skating is ATROCIOUS (affreux ???). Have you seen him play live? As for Giroux, I really like the kid, I think he could be drafted end of the first round or the beginning of the second. His size WILL play against him.

I was about to post the same thing....his skating is just way too bad to be a 1st round pick. Im not saying he cant be an NHL player but a guy with his skating doesnt usually get picked in round 1.

Giroux was 5'04 last year so that could explain why he wasnt chosen in the OHL draft lol Big growth spurt.

It's not that bad all things considered, it is better than say Picard-Hooper's for instance and they've been clicking all year. I'm guessing he can work on his skating, seeing that all the other elements in his game (passing, shooting, vision, creativity) are first rate and worthy of a first-round pick.

giroux is incredible... i've seen him play a few times this year... but i doubt he will be picked in the first round... the size will play against him, but i really think he could become a solid PP specialist, while playing on a refular basis.
