Clarkson with 5th overall Pick, or 10th overall pick and no Clarkson?

Trading up from 10 to 5 would cost at the bare minimum another 1st. Wouldn't trade Clarkson+1st for nothing at this point, especially knowing there are deals like the Horton deal out there.

maybe if we used that salary we gained on a player thats actually worth it.

I'd take the top 5 pick and Clarkson. If you look at the logistics surrounding this trade, there's no reason it couldn't have happened in the off-season unless, for some inexplicable reason, there was some other team that was interested in taking Horton's contract off of Columbus' hands.

To me, there was a good possibility that we keep Clarkson until the end of the year, get the top 5 pick and then trade Clarkson as soon as off-season trades began.
