He always was call up nr.1 I guess but there were some doubts after his injury. Glad he's back.

They knew they were calling him up I'm sure, which makes me wonder why they let him play today in Providence. 3rd game in 3 nights for the guy.

Firstly because the Checkers needed him and secondly because he just returned from injury and the Canes probably wanted to see what he can do before calling him up. So no. Don't think they knew before the game.
