The Skills competition is of course the night before on the 18th.
THIS GAME is always intriguing because the kids hit trying to impress scouts-it is not like a fiesse all-star game..
Of course it is only ONE GAME and the old saw that a stinker game won't necessarily hurt a kid's draft rankings,BUT a game where a kid "shines" could influence scouts to upgrade hion their charts probably holds true... Remember PAT KANE's TOP PROSPECTS GAME?He was mr. iniviible that night deite tearing up the OHL that year..so a stinker TP game doesn't necessarily drop anyone i the rankings.
NOw this year's TP game is particularly fascinating for lots of comparison "looks"
to substantiate or change certain evaluation rankings if certain players shine:
RNH vs. RYAN STROME (the battle of the Ryans at centre)...
MCNEILL vs, RNH (is there really that big of a "gap" favouring RNH?)
SIEMENS vs. HAMILTON (the battle of the big D-men)
PRINCE vs. RATTIE and BARTSCHI --who shines among the "smaller skilled wingers?)
CHRIS GIBSON in nets (is he really that good? OR will a "shiner" game move him up to #1 Na goalie past the not in the game JOHN GIBSON ranked #1 NA goalie by Cenral couting at mid-term?)
AND then the biggest story ofall: COUTURIER vs, HUBERDEAU --who really is the best Q forward prospect?
These are very intersesting "looks" t watch for throughout this contest.
Invariably the star of the game is somebody not so much in the spotlight...COLIN JACOBS? REECE SCARLETT? LUCAS LESSIO? XAVIER OULLETE? SCOTT HARRINGTON?PHILIP DANAULT? MARK SCHIEFELE? TOMAS JURCO? One of the other goalies (HONZIK,BINNINGTON,LISTON)? This surprise factor usually happens..
So again-itshould be a fascinating contest.
