Different players...more like Ryan Ellis or Torrey Krug. He is a shooter, much less of a dangler.

Gostisbehere is very much a shooter. He has 40 goals in just 245 games. That's only 16 less goals than what Ellis has, who has played 178 more games.
That's 12 less goals than Krug, who has played 168 more games.

Went to Saturday night's game between Spokane and Portland. Rough night for Ty Smith and crew as they lost 8-2. They did play in Everett the night before, so that might explain why they looked flat.

With the last change, Portland seemed to be taking advantage of the matchups. They were generally keeping the Cody Glass line away from Ty Smith, but when the two were matched up, Glass picked Smith's pocket a few times. Smith seemed a little too eager to join the rush that night, but that may have been a byproduct of being quickly down 3-0.

But obviously it's only one game.

On the bright side, it was the Teddy Bear toss which is always fun.

Bob McKenzie had a podcast outlining the Canadian WJC hopefuls and I think he mentioned that Smith is pretty much a lock. Typically Canada would lean on the 19 year old defenders but their crop of '99 born D is weaker than normal for them.

Zetterlund makes Sweden’s initial world junior roster. Not a surprise since he was there last year but his injury earlier this was concerning when it happened.

USA Hockey will be revealing their WJC invite roster shortly. One poster claims to have seen the list (Chris Peters also reported there are 29 on the invite list) and said that Reilly Walsh didn't get invited.

Theres maybe one with slightly better offensive numbers, and that is Quinn Hughes. But I have never seen Walsh player, maybe he is just terrible defensively.
