Ooh, Oskar Osala picked by Mississauga. Nice.

And two pretty good Slovaks taken by Swift Current and Owen Sound, but no Mikus yet (my favorite of the three).

David Skokan taken by Rimouski...IMO he could turn out to be the best player picked in the draft if Frolik doesn't get picked and come over. Look for Skokan to be in the running for top 3 pick in 2007 he is that good.

still waiting to see if guys like Anikeenko, Kopitar, Istomin, Lehtonen, Hanzal, Kastsitsyn, the other Wikner, David Ruzicka, get picked.

Anikeenko wil want to improve his draft rating, Istomin though rare russians come over of this caliber IMO will be a 4th liner in the super league. Czechs usually come over, Kastsitsyn might come cause of his brother over here.

I am 90% sure he will move over. He expressed that he was considering playing in North America next season.. a few weeks back... and I think he will. Can't think of the last time a Swedish player was drafted in the CHL import draft and did not move over the pond.

Really? This calls for a three    salute!

I'm guessing it's between slim and none that he stays in Sweden, I would frankly be very surprised if he didn´t leave. He is a great talent but he would still be playing on the 4th line in Södertälje, regardless of what Bonde 007 says... ;)
If the coach puts him on the 4th line i hope he goes but as it looks today he has a spot on the top lines, and i think "we" (SSK) are primarly hunting centers not wingers.

Already four Swedes drafted, this is a new record, isn't it?

Well, let's see :

2004 : 0
2003 : 5 (Jonasen, Persson, Engman, Svensson & Williams)
2002 : 2 (Paulsson & Johansson)
2001 : 3 (Ferholm, Sjostrom & Aslund)
2000 : 1 (Oduya)
1999 : 3 (Johansson, Andersson & Lovdahl)
1998 : 1 (Brandt)
1997 : 0

So two more would break the 2003 record!

No since there are only around 5-6 2nd round picks in the import draft who are not forfeited. The 2003 import draft had these swedes :

5 - Tri-City Americans - Marcus Jonasen
19 - Prince-Edward Island Rockets - Jonathan Persson
20 - Spokane Chiefs - Gustav Engman
41 - Saskatoon Blades - Bjorn Svensson
47 - Swift Current Broncos - Bobby Williams

Bergfors in the Q?

THAT"D BE MORE THEN AMAZING because my cousin promised me that he's gonna give me some tapes of a lot of their games, next year.

I guess, Sveiglar lives in Saint-John's and is a lucky man now!

I can see the ads in the Telegram now:

"Come out to Mile One and see this awesome Swede, the guy we had to take because Colin Escott was taken 3rd in the entry draft, and a bunch of goons and token locals. Fun for the whole family; it's Fog Devils hockey!"
