It was Scott Darling who pocketed the shutout for the Hawks, making him the first Chicago goalie to blank the Bruins on Causeway Street since Tony Esposito also turned in a 1-0 beauty on Jan. 17, 1970.

That game should have been a 0-0 tie but Referee Bill Friday awarded a goal to Chicago.

It cost the Bruins home ice in the 1970 East Final but it turned out to mean little as Boston would sweep the Hawks and go on to win the Cup.

Earlier this week in what would become Jack capuanos last game as Islanders head coach
The New York Islanders recorded their first ever shutout win in Boston.
Just thought this might tie in a bit to this Hawks win.
Cheers
