With the signing of Kalnyuk and the cap staying flat or going down. The hawks need to get under cap

seabrook (50% retained) + Boqvist

for

Lucic (33% retained)

Basically an extra year for Seabrook. I think it is pretty close. I would probably do it as a Flames and and hope both retire haha

Dang that's a rough deal for Chicago. Not worth it if your sweetener is a top 4 RD (with potential to be a top pairing D).

Let's just make this simple. Lucic isn't waiving his NMC again so soon and not to go further from home so it isn't happening.

Even though the cap hit would be less with the retention (and getting Boqvist) ANOTHER year of dead cap on a player, you're killing me here. 3 years is bad enough, I can't take 4.

I'd rather keep Looch than have a slowing down Dman. Looch has been quite good for us defensively and has allowed Dube to develop/

Seabrook's contract is bonus laden as well making a buyout hard and I'd rather spend the money on Gustafsson.

I take you don't really know much about Boqvist, He's a #1 caliber RD with a similar ceiling (maybe higher) to Valimaki. He's also expansion exempt. I love Looch and what he brings but this is far to good to turn down.

If anyone takes this thread seriously, I’d ask you to look through the OPs post history. Kid is just trolling.

So Chicago gets

Lucic(4mil aav 3years ) + (3.4375mil aav 4 years)?

Calgary gets

seadbrook at ( 3.4375mil aav 4 years ) + (2mil 3 years)? + adam boqvist??

Is this a joke? Chicago wouldn't even do this without boqvist and yet one calgary fan acts like they'd have to think about it?

I've long thought that Seabrook for Lucic straight up makes sense. But after Seabrook's surgeries, who knows if he'll be able to play again.

If he just LTIR's until retirement, you got yourself a damn deal.

Seabrook for Lucic moves the needle a little. I'm just holding out hope Lucic goes on LTIR though for his Scheuermann's disease or a Hossa rash.
