Coyle can step in if there are injuries and if not is an outstanding 3 line center who can take defensive zone face offs and lighten 37 & 46 losds

This is perfect,McAvoy will be 24 when this deal is over. You will know exactly who and what he is. He will still be a RFA which you then sign to a max deal 8 years. Your all set for the next 11 years. . It may cost more this way but the odds of paying a player who is well past his prime lowered

This gives them more money for resigning Krug and Coyle

The term an AAV are perfect. 3 years is a great sample size to see if McAvoy can stay healthy and produce and is worth re upping for the long haul. Bruins handle their RFAs better than any team

I saw your tweet yesterday about the current (pre McAvoy signing) cap space being at 23 roster spots. Does this figure of 3.2 million include $ gained from dropping those roster sports? (I'm too lazy to look, and am not sure I would be able to figure it out anyway.)
