Recipe for some potentially difficult times if they begin the year with neither signed but I think they find a way to get both done before game 1 but every day these kids miss training camp puts them behind the 8 ball as we have all seen before

I don't disagree with you. I was just trying to live in the minds of the management.

Ideally, just get the deals done, whomever is ready.

Wait wasn't the word earlier that McAvoy wanted the bridge deal?

I'm surprised the Bruins wouldn't want to go long term if that's what he wanted

A three year deal is fine. If he turns into a consistent #1, you can sign him for long term then. You save a bit now and it costs more later but I'd rather be sure he is as good as he was in the playoffs and can stay healthy.

I too think this is the way to go. We’ll see how he progresses. This year will be a tell on how he goes forward. I think this team will be tired and the young kids will have to step up. He will too. He might be able to stand out because of the hang over.

A long term deal would be preferable but the Bruins are in a good spot to pay him top dollar in 3 years with their cap situation, assuming of course they are able to replace some of their top performers from their farm system/trades and not be too terrible to bother.

I'll be curious about the number.

I know many of us want Krug negotiations to start and as Krug himself said "there's other business to take care of first" but depending on what this comes in at (and Carlo), there just might be enough tag space to work on Krug, Coyle and DeBrusk extensions right now.

You are for extending Coyle? You don't see him as a blocker for Studnicka or Frederick beyond this season?

Man hard to believe Sweeney and Chiarelli both went to Harvard. Does Harvard have a community college annex?

GREAT deal for the Sweenius. 600k less than I thought.

So you keep Coyle and move Stud and Frederick to the wings until Krejci and Bergeron retire?
