But Backes will trap the puck along the boards, back and forth once maybe twice, and then lose possession for transition the other way. And that’s the best play he makes. If it’s not that, it’s entering the zone late and skating right into his teammates, or flubbing passes either to or from them.
Heinen and Cehlarik have shown chemistry for fleeting moments. That’s not much, but it’s a clear win over Backes right now.
My hesitancy with moving Wagner to that line is all about the chemistry he has with Acciari and Kuraly. I don’t want to break that up on the off chance that he’s turned into a scorer after six years in the league. I love the guy, but his success has a lot to do with the energy his line produces.
