It still unfortunately needs to be said though cause there are people here who still constantly ignore the negative effect those two have on a lines production
I get it and I`m with you. I hate coming down on Backes because the guy is all heart and I truly admire what he`s fought through with injuries and surgeries but at the end of the day, he just can`t bring a consistently strong game and it`s killing the line.

Nordy is kind of a weird one, I really like his PK skill, great speed, very responsible but I think this team has enough of it

I see Coyle when playing with those two trying to create opportunities but the puck just dies on both of their sticks

I still would prefer Cehlarik there.

And have both Backes and Nordstrom watching from the press box.

perfect world scenario, me too, Cehlarik clearly more naturally gifted than Wags but plays with a quarter of the urgency and heart that Wags does so until/unless he demonstrates that drive in Providence, may not happen

wanna motivate Cehlarik or see if it motivates him? Call up a Senyshyn or Fitzy and see how he reacts in Providence as he watches one pack his bag for the big club:popcorn:

I am all for 2 Senyshyn games, see the drive in person, Nordstrom or Backes can sit.

Shouldn't hurt, i mean it's hard to produce less than 0.

I dont know why they havent played Senyshyn yet. Let's see what hes got and avoid another Donato situation

I`m not nearly qualified to speak on Seny, from what I read in the PB thread from a fan like Saxon Eric, he`s still trying to find that consistency but when he`s on, he`s on. Wrap up a home ice advantage and give him a game or two would be the way I go.

Agreed. The playoffs are often about effort/tenacity/emotion and Wagner has that in spades. I was among the biggest Cehlarik guys here, but he doesn't play with enough gumption, for lack of a better word. Some guys are skilled enough that they can be effective when it doesn't look like they are working hard (and maybe actually aren't woking hard) -- Krejci for example. Cehlarik isn't there, IMO.

Of course, as we all know lineups change from game to game in the playoffs and having two of Backes, Nordstrom, Cehlarik chomping at the bit to get back to the lineup, isn't a bad thing.

I haven't seen a lack of motivation in Celly. He,s not openly demonstrative. He knows what's at stake.

not really what I`m speaking of Ratty, Heinen isn`t openly demonstrative but that doesn`t mean he`s not out there playing with focus. It`s plays like waiving your stick at someone as they skate by you, last game, 2 different times I watched him glide back into his own zone and that`s from sitting on my couch, imagine what the coaches see.

He`s got it in him, we saw it immediately when he was called up, he now needs to bring that every shift

I feel like we said the same about Donato who is putting up a point a game with his new club.

Just getting tired of the same old BS. Cehlarik at half speed is still giving the team a chance at offence. Backes at full speed is a god damn trainwreck.

Cehlarik doesn't belong on this team right now. He has had ample opportunity and has done squat. I don't understand the love affair some have with him. He plays with no emotion. Sorry to say but I'd rather have Backes on the ice than Cehlarik, especially come playoff time.

I wouldn’t be upset if they try Wagner on the third line. Backes shouldn’t be playing on any line.

It looked like Heinen and Cehlarik has some chemistry, why not try a third line of
Cehlarik-Coyle-Heinen?

Cehlarik still has a better PPG this year than Backes who played what, 6 minutes last game?

Neither of them are producing, so give me the player who has a bit more heart, will hit and fight. Ideally neither of them are in the lineup but people seem to have some blind faith in Cehlarik.

No blind faith in Cehlarik. Not a huge fan, myself.

But Backes will trap the puck along the boards, back and forth once maybe twice, and then lose possession for transition the other way. And that’s the best play he makes. If it’s not that, it’s entering the zone late and skating right into his teammates, or flubbing passes either to or from them.

Heinen and Cehlarik have shown chemistry for fleeting moments. That’s not much, but it’s a clear win over Backes right now.

My hesitancy with moving Wagner to that line is all about the chemistry he has with Acciari and Kuraly. I don’t want to break that up on the off chance that he’s turned into a scorer after six years in the league. I love the guy, but his success has a lot to do with the energy his line produces.

I wouldn’t mind: 22-13-43, but I thought in the few times we saw Heinen and Wagner together last week, they looked good together. Wagner is pretty quick and he loves to drive the net. That gives Heinen room to operate and find the trailer on the play (ala Krejci).

My only concern with the 3rd line with Heinen and Coyle together is that they are both pass first guys and would probably be at their best with a shooter in that 3rd spot on the line.

Not sure who would be that guy?
