Put me in the hater category. Not even so much that I hate giving up Donato.

Coyle is just about as bland a player as they could have picked up, and you are stuck with him for next year

Good trade.

My only concern is: assuming Sweeney plans to make another move this makes the cap situation real sticky.

Really hoping this isnt it. It's a great piece but doesnt put us over the hump IMO

I'm a fan of Coyle and i think he's a solid player.

Fans need to temper expectations though because he does have a way of leaving you wanting more. Good size but doesn't dominate physically. Good skill but his production is more middle 6 than top 6.

Good pickup by Don. Charlie's got versatility, being able to play center or RW and has term left.

Uh?
We will regret this trade big time in the next 1-3 years. Mark my words.

Completely fine. We're a hilariously top heavy team that has been hurt the past two summers because of our awful depth.

The way I see it, Donato is likely a middle 6 forward, he can be more but he needs to prove himself soon. I don't think he'll be anything more than a 40-50 point scorer. That's what Coyle is now. Donato COULD be better, but we need help now.

I think it's great value for us. Looking forward to seeing what he can do

when a deal is done I always ask, "will this improve the team"? Now, not having seen Coyle a ton and while not being overwhelmed by his performance during those times I still say yes and it`s simply due to the fact that the 3rd line or whatever it`s called these days is beyond irrelevant so this is a good move now Donny needs to go out and get someone else

I didn’t want to move donato but for a player like coyle who has an additional year left, is still only 26 and is a right shot, that’s not a bad move to make. He’s been cold this year and last but he’s still young and talented with a lot more pedigree than donato. I think there’s a chance donato ends up being good, but I’m almost positive coyle will be good with Boston and also a better fit

Eh, LW is deep. Natural scorers however are not. Coyle isn't that at all. Not a great shot, not a full time center. For his size he never uses it much. Overall, meh.
