The thing that shocks me about him is how much he reminds me of Nathan Horton with his willingness to carry the puck and make moves. I didn't expect him to be so skilled.

I don't think any of us did. I know I didn't, I figured he'd be your typical third line center, rock solid but not spectacular which is what you want/get with a 3C. He really opened my eyes to what he can do during the playoffs.

Guy looks better than ever. I have full confidence in his ability to play up in the lineup if Bergy or Krejci goes down. Hoping and expecting a big year from Charlie.

Looks to me like the Bruins have found a top 6 replacement center when Krejci is done. Sign Coyle to a good deal before he hits UFA status.

I fully expect Charlie coming into his own and finally exploding into elite level territory like Marchy did a few years ago. He really has the talent. Though I would be okay with him doing that next season after he signed his new contract

I have a feeling this will be Coyle's break out year. He'd be a great 2nd line replacement for Krejci when he slows down. Fingers crossed that Studnicka morph's into a 1st line center

Then again, for all we know, Steen or Shen is the next Joe Pavelski

Yeah, I think things are shaping up really well for him this year. Contract year at 27 so it's his one big chance to cash in, 3rd line center role locked down but has the upside to play on Krejci's right wing if that doesn't sort itself out, and obviously the go-to guy to fill in at center for a Bergeron/Krejci injury.

Looked like a beast on the second line tonight. Bruins haven’t been this deep at center since Savard, Bergeron and Krejci.

Looked great last night however he got himself into trouble and turned the puck over that led to the goal. He can be a little trick or treat sometimes.

Even though he lost the puck in the middle of the ice, which is rarely good, he was fairly deep in the o-zone and in taking a chance like that he has every right to expect his defense to be there. Unfortunately Chara took about 12 minutes to skate off on a change and Grz couldn't get over the boards in time to defend on that play.

while posting Donato`s stat line at the end of each game:help:

If Donato isn't scoring goals, then he's really not doing much of anything else on the ice. When Coyle isn't scoring goals, he's making plays, creating space, playing a two-way game, using his size and winning face-offs.

If I were the GM I'd by working on a long-term extension right now with Coyle. Don't know what he would command as a UFA given what someone like Hayes got, but maybe something like 5x5m gets it done? Unsure, to be honest.
