Italy were also going to send a crooked ref to the WC that year, who knows what kind of damage that would have done.

Erh, sorry? Not every team had a whole system to buy refs.
Every club conspired to underpay players until very recently.

I don't see how events from a decade ago should pertain the worthiness of winning today especially for the current crop of players and coaches.

So apparently the dude who bombed the Dortmund bus wanted to harm the club and cause the stock to crash so he could cash-in :help:

Here's an interesting look at the worldwide popularity of the final four teams on social media:

Real Madrid: 23.1M Twitter followers, 101M Facebook likes, 48.3M Instagram followers
Juventus: 4.26M Twitter followers, 25.6M Facebook likes, 6.5M Instagram followers
Atletico Madrid: 2.96M Twitter followers, 13.7M Facebook likes, 3.1M Instagram followers
AS Monaco: 1.42M Twitter followers, 4.3M Facebook likes, 428K Instagram followers

The CL is obviously not scripted, but if I'm UEFA I know the two teams I'd want in the finals and more importantly, the one team I definitely want in the final.

Madrid derby should be a cracker tonight. Atleti coming out in warrior black, Simeone's got them ready for battle.

Sounds like Zidane is going to stack the midfield with Isco-Modric-Kroos-Casemiro behind Benzema and Ronaldo. No Bale is probably a blessing in disguise, making his selection easier. Expect to see Asensio for sure, possibly James and Morata/Lucas/Kovacic in the second half.

Atleti have the question mark at RB with Juanfran out. I expect to see Savic there. Key will of course be the midfield for them, as always. Saul, Gabi, Koke dominate the midfield in every Madrid derby, this likely won't be any different. Question mark between Carrasco or Gaitan to start. Ramos and Varane/Nacho will need to be mindful of Griezmann who seems to repeatedly get in behind them and do damage.

Prediction: 2-1 Real tonight in the Bernabeu. Ronaldo and Griezmann before Morata scores a late winner.

Rooting for Atletico. Hoping Torres gets on he's always been a big presence in big games.

The goal probably came too early in the game for Atletico's liking, but they had to push for an away goal anyway and were never going to keep a clean sheet in this match.
