Unusual hockey stats
I did some work in parsing both the PBP/Live box score data and the Situation Room blog for challenges and video reviews and was able to deduct the outcomes of the challenges in favor of this or another team with a quite good precision. More than 2400 such events since 2015 have been processed. I added these stats on my website - the idea is to break down how frequently teams are on the winning / losing end of each challenge type situation (own challenge, opponent's challenge, situation room challenge/video review).
The research was prompted by the narrative that the San Jose Sharks are getting no love from Toronto this season whatsoever. The research confirmed the narrative: the Sharks are 2-16 in total in Toronto/officials' adjudications this season.
