Which means they have 12 months to work out a new contract, then if he takes his QO or 1 year arbitration offer, another year to work out a new contract. Yes, there is a chance he takes his QO or arbitration and walks, but that is no more likely than him signing a 5-8 year extension during the final year of this contract.
