Hopefully he continues to improve.
ah beat me to it by a second
Lol, I thought you had beat me.
Solid deal. He has value at that number.
There's two of him?
I like this thread better for the headline.
Awesome deal. Guy has first line potential. This will be an interesting season for him.
Basically Reilly Smith 2.0
The term isn’t great, but at that cap hit who gives a shit.
This isn't a good year for term. These are the shortest terms we have seen on average in ages.
I thought he’d sign for around 3 so I’m happy
I think it's a good risk management term for both sides. Mangiapane is super tough to gauge right now. He looks like he could grow into a first line player but that's based on a pretty small sample size of success.
good comparable for JV imo.
Amazing deal, great for the Flames to have him at this price, even if the term is low
I think a lot of fans are overhyping him right now and settung themselves up for disappointment. He has the potential to be first line, but thank God we didn't sign him long term ahead of time like some teams.
I expect him to be a good 0.5-0.6 ppg scorer who uses his legs to create intense forecheck pressure. Great player to have, and probably a more reasonable hope.
Never heard of him but I assume he played for the Canucks last year
What's important is he is still an RFA at the end of the 2 year term. When you file for Arbitration the team gets the right to choose the term of the contract
Bread is rising
Please tell me his nickname is bread
I believe Mangiapane should have gotten above 3mil for he had a good season in Calgary’s top 6 playing his off wing with less then 14 minutes ATOI and what makes it even more impressive is the possession stats with 53.9% of his starts in the defensive zone at only 24 yrs old.
Calgary gets Mangiapane on a good bridge deal.
His name literally means "eat bread". Flames will shorten his name to either bread or mango.
Lots of other fun stuff like... yeast mode.
Good deal. Still have some potential with more ice time and better line mates.
It actually is an informal (insulting) way of calling someone a peasant, but yes the literal translation is eat bread which is why I found that so funny.
Not bad for an overaged 6th rounder
Separate names with a comma.
