Maybe they can put Rieder, Rinaldo and Lucic on a line together. Should be good for 5 solid goals this year lol.
feel bad for Smith-Pelly. He should have signed a bigger/better contract last year after his strong playoffs instead of giving Caps a deal and trying to go for another cup. Now he may not even get a contract next year.

DSP and Rieder seem like solid PTO options. Could be decent 12-14 options somewhere.

Reider will likely be filler for the Flames pre-season games. If he's not good enough to stick with the Oilers I highly doubt that he'll be good enough to make the Flames roster for the regular season. DSP is another story though. If he does well, I can see him getting a contract offer from the Flames as RW Garnet Hathaway is gone and Frolik might be traded.

Does anyone else kind of want to see Reider play the oilers in a preseason game and get a hatty? I don't really want him to make the final roster but it would be fun if potentially his last NHL goals came against the Oilers.

Doesn't hurt. We need some more vets to meet the requirements in pre season games when we are doing split squad games I think, especially with Tkachuk and Mangiapane not signed yet.

As a LW Rinaldo won't make the team. DSP is a possibility on the 4th line.

Yes I do. You know you have to sign someone to a PTO, right? And they traded for Lucic and are bringing in a bunch of knuckle draggers to camp. At least I think most of these guys are done outside of their ability to fight and hit.

No he's not. He could be decent for a good team, maybe in the playoffs. Even then, how many more times can lightning strike for a 4th line guy? It's already happened twice. On any team below a top 10 one, he's at best a warm body.
