Who the hell is Roman? This is my first vote in these prospect poll this year other than Valimaki. I clicked on a random name and voted for Roman. I was surprised he had 4 votes before mine.

Changing my vote to Roman for this round, you guys convinced me. Can't fathom why anyone is voting for Lindstrom though the guy is verging on busting from what I understand.

He's just unheralded is all. I doubt he's gone from good player at the WJC to nearly busting in half a year, though.

He's emphasizing defence in his own game and it sounds like he wants to become a reliable bottom-six player.

There is no doubt he had a solid tournament, but 1 goal through 15 games of international junior isn't exactly lighting it on fire either. He also was already 20 at the time of the tourney is I am not mistaken. I guess suggesting he is on the verge of busting is a bit strong, but his lack of production at some point has to become concerning. Focusing on defensive game is great, but how many guys make the NHL at forward based purely off that, not many I would think.

I mean, he is a fourth-rounder, so the bar for him to bust is pretty low. The article makes it seem like the Flames are still keeping tabs on him, so I reserve judgement until he comes over to NA.

Because Lindstrom is supposedly turning into a really solid defensive expert in a mens league right now. Comparison I saw was Backlund without the offense, but Backlund wasn't exactly lighting up Europe at that age either.

He has almost 100 pro games as a 20 year old. That's not exactly common in a mens European league where the season is 51 games long (I believe).

Flames Nation had an okay write up on him. They are higher on him than I am, but still bring good points to the table. FlamesNation Top 20 Prospects 2018: #12 Linus Lindstrom
