Yup, especially with the newborn. His girlfriend is a Doc too, so doubt she puts it on hold for Piette and moves in Turkey. They've been apart for a few years when he was in Europe, but doubt we'll see it happen now with the baby.

There are worse things in life than living in your home province, with your family around, getting paid 500K/year to play soccer. He's here to stay. But it looks like teams are having interest in him.

That team has the best scorer of the Super Lig this season, who is linked with top European clubs. They will make millions when they sell that forward - probably at least 10 m. They could easily give him 2x to 2.5x what he makes in Montreal and in Euros. Now he can stay but he is not gonna play much at all, just occasional 10 minutes at the end to defend... Eventually 500k on the bench will be too much so the team will be looking to offload him anyway. So just a matter of time before he leaves.

As for ZBG, if the interest from Besiktas is serious, he should be looking to leave right after the Gold Cup, thats millions of dollars. I would say 2-3 mil. You can not play with that if you are Montreal and struggle to make money. Better for his career, Turkey is a great place to get better... if you play.

Edit:
According to Transfermarket, the top goal scorer of 22 goals, a year ago was valued at 110k, a year later his value? 9.35 mil. Potato is not the smartest guy, but he would be stupid not to jump on the opportunity for someone who whine publicly about not making enough money.

He's slowed down a lot, but he used to be dominant in MLS.

Wouldn't say dominate, but he was definitely on the leaderboards for top third in the league.

Now he seems like he's out of form. I can't complain, considering 50% of the NT didn't have clubs 5 years ago.

True, but money talks. Pretty sure the corp. world talked for the habs.

It's also important to keep in mind that 2500 fans at the Bell Centre could be viable in the playoffs at 200$ a ticket on average, not sure IMFC is break-even with 5000 fans at 30$ a ticket in the stands in Stade Saputo.

Yeah, but that only concerns the org., the government is not doing this only to help the habs make 750k a night.
