Would like to see the bolded guys brought back. Underlined I wouldn't hate to have back, but wouldn't complain if alternatives were explored/needed.

UFA:
Jonathan Bernier, Joe Colborne, Blake Comeau, Andrew Hammond, Mark Barberio, Rocco Grimaldi, Gabriel Bourque, Joe Cannata, Mark Alt, Trent Vogelhuber
RFA: Matt Nieto, Patrik Nemeth, Nail Yakupov, Duncan Siemens, Spencer Martin, Mason Geertsen, Ryan Graves, Félix Girard, Jesse Graham, Reid Petryk

On top of that lock Rantanen down while you can and get to work on a Barrie extension, if Zadorov will sign for 4per or less, get that done to, but if you can't get him for a steal than focus on the first two and UFA. Where we should pursue Tavares or Stastny. If neither wants to come to colorado, look into trade options for younger guys who could be Jost's partner in crime on a second scoring line that can put in work.

Pretty much the same for me but I'd put Bork under one I'd definitely bring back on a 1-2 year deal. Had a great year and looks to be a great #12 and can be easily buried if his game falls off a cliff.

Blake Comeau not bolded?Guy is epic on pk, great forechecker, good shooter, one of the most physical guys on roster and he picked 34 points. Imo he deserves new contract.

Baldo is a good fit on that Soderberg line, he got a letter for a reason, and in general is a pretty ideal third liner; but we also have a lot of kids who are either already at the point where they need NHL PT to keep progressing or soon will be...Jost, Greer, Ghetto, Kerfoot, Kamenev, & Toninato are all ready for NHL jobs and few of them have much more to gain from the AHL...and we already have half the forward spots locked in with Landy-MacK-Mikko and Nieto-Soda-Wilson.

So if Lake wants too much of a raise we should let him go; and we shouldn’t bring him back for too long, even if the price is right...same reason Bourque isn't a must re-sign to me, even though he's pretty much the perfect 13th forward/4th line PKer. Especially if we can get a Tavares / Stastny / Draisaitl to center Jost & Andrighetto on that second line cause some kid would already be on the outside looking in & Toninato would have to start in the AHL (barring injuries):

Landy - MacK - Rantanen
Jost - JT/Staz - Andrighetto
Nieto - Soderberg - Wilson
Greer - Kerfoot - Compher
Kamenev

I really hope Avs bring back Siemens and Grimaldi, not for the NHL, but we need solid some veterans to play for the Eagles that will actually play and not mercenary it around while choosing what games to show up for.

Girard had a step back, I think Avs can explore better options with him IMO. Petryk is an energy guy and someone I wouldn't mind having back, but he can be replaced as well. One guy I hope Avs pass on for an upgrade is Barberio. He wasn't bad per se, more that injuries let him play more than he should, but Avs can get someone easily better this free agency.

Eh, I’m over Grimaldi as a player. He produces in the AHL but he does so by holding the puck forever, and that’s not conducive to developing a quick puck moving style that prepares kids to play for the Avs. Plus his hyper-religiosity has already rubbed enough guys the wrong way for me not to want him in the locker room anymore. Yes we need scorers down there but I’d rather put our energy into getting our kids like Shvyryov, Lewis & Smirnov onto the Eagles to provide the offense; and if we must get an AHL scorer would rather we look elsewhere than Rocco.

Dunk the Lunk, I’d love to have back to captain the Eagles. But if he wants to leave for an organization that’ll give him more of a shot in the NHL, I can’t blame him. I don’t think he’s a full time NHLer, but his skating, physicality & defensive game are NHL caliber. So maybe he can carve out an NHL career for himself somewhere else. Plus with Anderson turning pro, and the growth Geertsen showed this year, we don’t have the most urgent need for a stay at home LHD on that team. Especially since Boikov should be fully recovered in time for next season, Graves is probably going to figure in there somewhere, and that teams is likely to have both Meloche & Timmins on the right side.

Girard took a step back. So probably should've been underlined instead of bolded; but I still like him as a two-way middle 6 Center in the AHL, who should complement Beaudin & Toninato/Kamenev (assuming one of them starts the year in the AHL) pretty well if we’ve got the scorers on the wings to put pucks into the net.

Petryk is just a personal fave, objectively he should be underlined and could maybe even get brought back on an AHL contract. He & Belzille are pure AHLers/ECHLers, but I just love cheering for them and they’re great to have around the AHL club with their work ethic, dedication & heart. Their energy & attitude is just infectious and I love having them around our kids. I wouldn’t be surprised to see both get letters in Loveland over the course of the year...depending on what older AHLers get brought in.

As for Barberio, I’d double his salary to start the year on our third pairing with Nemeth. With Meloche & Timmins percolating in the AHL, we (hopefully) only need Barbie to give us half a season or so before one of those kids should be ready to step in if he dies again. We have 6 NHL-caliber blueliners for the first time in ages, so there's something incredibly satisfying with being able to just keep them together and make sure we don’t have to rush any more of our kids, ever again, instead of still desperately looking for solutions. I'm perfectly content to start the season with:
Zads - Barrie
Samwise - EJ
Nemo - Barbie
( Alt )
If we get Tavares or Stastny in to bolster the second line...or pull off my dream scenario with Drae...

Nashville, Tennessee
Unrestricted Free Agents: Alexei Emelin, Mike Fisher, Mark McNeill, Brandon Bollig, Matt O’Connor, Anders Lindbäck, Harry Zolnierczyk, Trevor Smith, John Ramage, Petter Granberg, Cody Bass
Restricted Free Agents: Ryan Hartman, Juuse Saros, Miikka Salomäki

I followed the model cgf used earlier in the thread to mark guys who should come back and guys who might come back.

For the UFAs:

Emelin was fine as a 5D, but he makes a lot of money. If he were to sign a reasonable contract with us I wouldn't mind having him back, but I doubt he will.
Fisher will no doubt go back into retirement after the post-season. He hasn't gotten back to form since coming back anyway.
Lindback started a ton of games for Milwaukee and saw a ton of shots and managed to do pretty well. I think if we can we ought to bring him back, hopefully with a passable backup this time.
Zolnierczyk was one of the few guys in the AHL who produced offense for us. He's also valuable as a depth call-up, and if we can we ought to bring him back. I could see him try for an NHL job elsewhere though.
Every other UFA could easily be let go. O'Connor is a sieve, Bollig and Bass are enforcers, and Granberg is very slow.

For the RFAs Hartman and Saros are guaranteed to get contracts. Salomaki could go either way, honestly.

Potential Lineup:

Forsberg - Johansen - Arvidsson
Fiala - Turris - Smith
Hartman - Bonino - Tolvanen
Watson - Sissons - Jarnkrok

Subban - Ekholm
Ellis - Josi
Irwin - Weber (gross)

Rinne
Saros
