We need to take on spare parts or we aren't going to cover the cap minimum by the end of the day!

I want what I want
Our Picks have more value than Columbus picks so..... yeah not the same value but if this is the best Gorts could get with an hour to go then so be it.

It's worse, because the picks will be lower, even if just marginally.

As I posted on the trade deadline thread, statistically speaking, the lower picks in the 4th and 7th round really have no less value than the picks the Rangers gave up for McQ. By that I mean, there really is no appreciable gradient in regards to NHL PPG for players chosen with the 100th pick (7th pick of the 4th round) through the end of the draft.

Of course it's always better to have the higher picks if only because of targeting one player in a specific round that you like and not having to hope that other teams ahead of you haven't targeted him as well. In the grand scheme of things though, it really doesn't matter.

I think the idea was more to bring in a guy to help with the young guys than anything else along with the off chance he could flip him at the deadline.
Having a backbone can also be contagious . I would say that management was very happy with what he brought to the team in his time here . I would bet EVERY guy in our organization was happy having him here especially Skjei . I think he would be a great 7th guy that can give us another40 games and if somebody steps up that needs more ice...easily traded once again to a club that has to face Wilson a few times a year . Not sure what the money would be...I'm biased..but I think he helped us this year .

What Makes a Prospect?
A player will be considered a prospect until he meets the following criteria:

If a prospect is a skater (forward, defenseman) and has played in 65 NHL games or more before the completion of the season of his 24th birthday; or, if a goaltender has played in 45 NHL games before the completion of the season of his 24th birthday, that player will be considered graduated to the NHL. Conversely, if a player completes the season of his 24th birthday without passing those milestones, then that player will no longer be considered a prospect by Hockey’s Future, regardless of the player’s status with his NHL club.

An NCAA player who signs his first contract at or above the age of 22 has three years to meet the above criteria (65/45), while those NCAA players that turn pro under the age of 22 will be subjected to the criteria above.

European players who sign their first NHL contract at or above the age of 22 have three seasons from the time they sign that contract to meet the above criteria. Those European players below the age of 22 that have signed a NHL contract will be subjected to the criteria in section one.

NOTE: These are general guidelines and should be followed the majority of the time but certain players may still be listed as prospects if circumstances warrant.

Bergman was great his final year in J20 SuperElit. He was a good prospect. I just think he wants to go back home rather than play for $70K or whatever on the AHL. I don't think there was an ulterior motive. Guys leave all the time. Especially when they've been here for multiple years and not played a single game.

Unless the Rangers know or believe differently, it's a pointless acquisition. Hartford doesn't even really need help. They're ****ing done.

Yeah, I don’t mind it. It’s a long audition, let’s see how he does. And Frölunda is a good organization. Bergman is a no-nonsense ambitious young D who isn’t totally without skill. Maybe he can find his game later on.

Well, it could be nice to a time least throw an AHL level defender into the lineup if they want to take a look at guys like Hajek or Lindgren.

Any reason we shouldn't let this kid have a cup of coffee with the big team to give him a reason to think about staying? He sites one of the reasons of going back home to him not getting a shot at the NHL. I am sure one of the other reasons was that he played for the dumpster fire owned by the worst owner in the league, and, well, that part is fixed.
